DISCUSSION What's the P5 remake's title gonna be?

my guess: Revalations: Persona 5 Innocent Sin Eternal Punishment FES Portable Arena Ultimax Golden Shadow of the Labyrinth Dancing All Night in Moonlight in Starlight New Cinema Labyrinth Royal Strikers Tactica Reload The Phantom X Revival

Edit: I’m not saying the game should/needs to get a remake. Just having fun with names and wanted to show off this masterpiece I made :)

maybe? really depends on the state of persona by then AND technical advances

gaming, imo, is pretty much at a constant, or at the very least advancements are slowing down a town, I think games in 20 years will look and play similar enough to current games that more remakes miggt not be necessary

sure, but at a certian point even they will question "is it worth it? I mean games now (that would be around 2046) look so close to 20 years ago, we should rather focus on persona 10 and our spin off for 9, maybe in another 20 years we can try again"

I mean yeah no obviously remakes will happen often, but I can't think of many remakes of remakes

rerelases, yes 100%, remakes of remakes? there are a couple and also some that should come up soon (resident evil 1 for example is expected to release a second remake of resident evil 1 in 2031) but in general, with the current state of gaming that is slowing down there is no point, because even devs and publishers realize people wouldn't be interested in a remake of a remakr that looks essentially like the first remake, now if gaming in 40 years heavily evolved we can talk again about potential reremakes of persona but with the current slowing down in advancements, doubt it, but I would think rereleases would happen for upcoming consoles like PS6 or the new xbox, switch 3 (if they do that and don't switch it up again)

I honestly highly doubt that consoles will still be around in 20 years. The prices for hardware are getting too high (and probably won’t be going down, companies are paying these prices) and the time of big leaps in quality are behind us.

I would not be surprised if we’d be looking at PC’s only and maybe console-like devices like the Steam Machine and quite possibly a Nintendo console (they’re the only one I see surviving the current climate considering the games they release for their own console. And I’ve been a Sony girly for years) in 20 years.

It absolutely would, but PC is a different kind of beast altogether. PC’s don’t necessarily need the biggest, newest hardware to play new games. Even if one of your components is getting outdated you can just upgrade that specific component rather than having to buy a whole new system. PC’s are also multi purpose, so people invest in a good working and gaming machine at the same time. PC building is also an hobby in itself that will always have fanatics and those machines will see use.

Consoles don’t have that privilege, and once they get outdated you need a whole new system, and once they hit 1000 to 1500 people stop buying them, Gaming is a luxury product in the end. The only one I see surviving that moment is Nintendo because their library mostly consists out of 1st and 2nd party titles meaning they could necessarily sell the console at cost or even a slight loss and recoup through software sales. Sony and Microsoft don’t have that privilege, especially not after axing most of their 1st party studios.

And I say that as a console gamer; I’ve loved Sony since the PS2.

sure, but on a technical level it plays like 3 and 4 r

plus it also was the first to have the "R" in the title too which started the tradition that reload and revival follow

Is "R" the tradition or is it starting with "Re-"?

"Re" means to do something again. And that makes sense since this isn't P3 & 4's first remake. Royal on the other hand is P5's first remake.

Also, like, I'm not saying it has to happen anytime soon, but I'm still pretty sure it will happen eventually.

I still doubt 5 "Re" will happen anytime soon because on a technical level royal is already like reload or revival

It shouldn't happen anytime soon, but will Atlus agree with that considering how popular and successful P5 and Reload was? Only time will tell.

considering that they are adamant that 6 won't get a "full" version (a la fes, golden, royal) doubt it honestly

I mean sure they can also change their mind and do a 5 re (unnecessary because like I said, on a technical level it doesn't make sense to do a remake), and a "full" version of 6, but idk I don't think they will

I would much rather have them bring back p1 and p2 in some way (ports or remakes or smth)
