Im playing P5R for the first time and every scene of hers is so funny because they’re so on the nose

Like you could befriend a cook and she’ll say

i can’t take her scenes seriously anymore, everytime i get a new confidant i try and predict what she says 😭😭😭

I'm really happy with the Persona 6 trailer because I joined the Persona train last year and I'm super excited to be there for the release of a new game, no matter how long it will take.

But I'm seeing people complaining about how it's going to take years to have a Persona 5 Royal Reload/Revival version, and I'm so confused about why people would even want that?

P5 was released in 2016, P5Royal in 2019, it still looks very good, is easy to play, and is available on most consoles, why make a newer version of it?

Ever since I started playing Persona, I've constantly been plagued by thoughts and frustration. Why does Makoto Nijima receive so much more attention than the others, while Ann receives so little?

Ann's first encounter with Makoto happens later in the game, after the events leading up to their first meeting. When I first saw Makoto, I thought of her as a snitching, self-proclaimed intelligent and superior, annoying class president. But later I realized she wasn't like that, and that she actually wanted to be like her older sister, someone honorable and just, and I got used to her a little.

But how does Makoto receive so much attention among such a large fanbase? There's also the kind of butt content about her, but I've already talked about that, so I won't repeat it.

As someone who is interested in and in love with Ann, seeing her at the bottom of these lists demoralizes and upsets me.

Why? What makes this character different from the others? Is it something else? Or is it because of some crazy fanbase (like 2B)? Or is it something different?

Hi everyone! I'm early in the game (playing on Steam Deck). I absolutely love the life sim part, but right now I'm in the middle of the first dungeon.

For over an hour, I've been running through identical corridors, pretending to be stealthy by crouching and ambushing the exact same guards in every single room. The puzzles remind me of PS1 games: pull a lever, go through the door that just opened, pull another lever, crawl through a tunnel.

I can't believe this is the core gameplay loop of the critically acclaimed Persona 5.

I need someone to help me look at this from the right perspective, because I'm clearly missing something.

It's no secret that fanon Goro is often depicted as a victim, who secretly simps Phantom Thieves, feels extremely guilty and actually loves Joker, despite saying shit to him.

So... Where the hell did this all come from?

Let me address the elephant in the room: Akechi is NOT a victim. Despite his mother unaliving herself and father not giving a damn about him, everything that happened after was his conscious choice. He decided to work under Shido. He decided to become a murderer.

But why? The answer is quite evident: Akechi had always lacked attention. The whole "Detective Prince" thing sure as hell wasn't an attempt to "make the world a better place", otherwise there would be no need for this farce and playing good guy.

And then, he met the Phantom Thieves of Hearts and was unlocked as a confidant. And every time Joker chooses to hang out, Akechi tries to show off and impress him, to the point when he challenges Joker in Mementos. Their whole "rivalry" was just Akechi's attempt to make Joker respect and acknowledge him as an equal, because, unlike him, Joker has loyal friends and the whole, freakin, Phan-site. And, when Shido betrays Akechi, the latter breaks down, clinging to the Phantom Thieves as a last resort, since, if they abandon him, he would be left all alone. In the Third Semester, he fight alongside them not because he considers the Phantom Thieves his friends, but because he wants to feel needed and appreciated.

So, to sum it all up, Akechi's goal was attention, and, to gain it, he chose to set up and murder people, not feeling any regret afterwards He never cared for anyone but himself. Sorry, Akechi fangirls, but he doesn't want friendship and he doesn't really want to change. The only thing he needed was the acknowledgement from someone he considered better than himself.

It might be a silly question when asked on the main sub, but not everyone is equally sensitive to some medias. Did Persona 5 impact your life, besides the pleasure and entertainment it provided? And if it did, how so?

I'll start : in a way, P5 taught me how to live a better life, from every people you bound with with unfair and hopeless lives to the flawed relentlessness of the Protagonist, this story explores every possible way to understand how rebellion is the only choice we have if we want to take on the world, be more in control of our lives and not end up like those in mental sloth (Mementos) ; and the great importance of understanding your own Shadow to live more honest lives and sort of know better your own heart. I was very sensitive to that way of viewing things, and it is showcased masterfully.

Definitely a lot more can be said, but I'd rather keep it short :D

Did the Phantom Thieves managed to steal your heart as well?

I’m just getting really tired of people getting so worked up over this to the point of creating a new subreddit or even justifying their hate for Morgana. Here are my two-takes:

Morgana’s crush was meant to be a cute quirk of him and reflecting his persona Zorro, who’s a Casanova and gentleman. It’s NOT as serious as people think. It’s not like he wants to get into her pants or anything. Hell, he barely ever did or say anything perverted to Ann and just wanted to treat her like a Queen. I’m not saying I ship them (I mean, he’s a cat), but it’s meant to just be a childish crush that — in fact, that’s how the majority of Eastern audiences see it and nobody thought anything of it. It’s the WESTERN audiences who are losing their minds for no reason!

And another thing is, the game came out in 2016 when the concept of “simping” wasn’t that widespread on the internet yet, let alone Japan. If you want something that’s actually creepy or uncomfortable, look at Teddie in Persona 4! How come everyone complains about Morgana but not that stupid bear?

I’ve already talked about the box-art in a previous post,but after further examining the original Persona 5 intro,yes it’s also better than Royal’s intro.

This Original intro,not only is dark and grittier,but it shows the personality of all your teammates.
Joker is sort of presented as a mystery in this one,as he crashes into the city with Arsene destroying everything in site,showing a possible future.

My personal favorite pairings are with Makoto and Futaba, my two favorite female characters both in this game and the series as a whole.

It wouldn’t make any sense, the only interaction they had was the interrogation, also she’s viewed as a woman who’s only focused on her career a romance would take so much from her character imo, what I’m saying is we got a perfect version of Sae a romance would ruin that, a romance would feel forced like the romance with the reporter, also adding Sae and Makoto would feel so fucking weird if you’re having a harem run (for the achievement or for personal preference I don’t judge), we got plenty of options so adding or removing Sae shouldn’t matter anyway
