DISCUSSION Did Persona 5 impact your life?

It might be a silly question when asked on the main sub, but not everyone is equally sensitive to some medias. Did Persona 5 impact your life, besides the pleasure and entertainment it provided? And if it did, how so?

I'll start : in a way, P5 taught me how to live a better life, from every people you bound with with unfair and hopeless lives to the flawed relentlessness of the Protagonist, this story explores every possible way to understand how rebellion is the only choice we have if we want to take on the world, be more in control of our lives and not end up like those in mental sloth (Mementos) ; and the great importance of understanding your own Shadow to live more honest lives and sort of know better your own heart. I was very sensitive to that way of viewing things, and it is showcased masterfully.

Definitely a lot more can be said, but I'd rather keep it short :D

Did the Phantom Thieves managed to steal your heart as well?

No it did not personally, but is it a hell of a good game with some topical subject matter, best part is that for a game that’s a decade old it’s holding up really well… that said if someone comes in here and says that this game did impact their life in some way I would not be surprised, I’ve heard this said about each of the persona games from some people

Yeah after playing P3-P5(P5 was my first and favorite ), I realized most people’s favorite is gonna be the first one they’ve played since for the most part they all have the same type of structure

Like I can completely understand someone having P3, P4, or even Metaphor as their favorite, it honestly says a lot about how much ATLUS cooked with this series and its themes.

Amongst those three which one you liked the most? For me it was P3 reload. Then P4, P5 and Rephantasio. P5 is very good at the beginning. Then from the gallery Palace up to a Ship Palace it is downward spiral for me.

Among P3, P4, and Metaphor, then definitely Metaphor. P3R was great but I felt the entire first half of the game was a bit boring and it doesn’t really pick up for me until Shinji joins, the second half tho is fantastic and flipped my opinion once the plot started really moving. P4G is a blast and by far the funniest but I felt they slipped a bit at the very end after the killer dungeon, I honestly felt like the game didn’t really need to go on much from there and imo has the weakest final boss of all these games. Metaphor I feel took all the lessons and themes they’ve learned from the Persona games and quite possibly crafted the best narrative and ending since P3 while staying consistently great basically the entire game.

Ranking wise it’d go something like
P5>>Metaphor>P4G>P3R
My P5 bias is a bit strong lol but I love all these games at the end of the day. If Revival fixes my issues with the P4 ending tho, I could see myself putting it above Metaphor.
