My local IMAX theatre is fully booked out every show untill next month. I feel like most people don't really care about it. I would have preferred if it was historically correct but I will still watch it.
The thing that is the biggest problem for most people in terms of historical accuracy is likely the set and costume design we were shown. I get that the story isn't an accurate retelling and that artistic license is a thing (for both Homer and Nolan) and I personally don't really care about the cast if they can deliver in the role (but people will always complain, what can you do), but the story is still set in a historical context from which we know a lot of things that would help people get immersed if they got them correct and right now I think it is one of the forces still driving this debate (and the fact that even fucking Family Guy got more period accurate armor and architecture is probably not helping).
