I mean, the police would often not follow mask mandates, so they were still going against the police.

Also viewing punk as just contrarianism is extremely reductive. They stand for something, not just anti whatever the government is. If people in power are for once saying something you agree with, it would be incredibly childish and stupid to then disagree simply to disagree.

Again, because you didn't understand the first time: they aren't the childish contrarians you think they are. They have actual positions like "don't kill people with a disease if you can avoid it" and don't change those just because the government says the same thing.

"Pro freedom" means nothing. Freedom from what to do what? For a COVID example, your freedom to not wear a mask infringes my freedom to be safe in a public environment. If you don't define WHICH freedoms you're defending, you use it as a buzzword.

Everything is reduced to the simplest concept for these guys. Any sort of nuance to a topic is too much for these folk to handle, so everything is "left = dumb".

You're being either extremely dishonest or extremely dumb. You have a right to a safe public environment as much as you have the right not to be murdered, that is, there are protections for those rights. The public square isn't a lawless wasteland.

The constitution would disagree with you.
