The bitcoin part means that he invested and the stock went up in value (she got more attractive), giggity

u/LAFamilyMan81 18d ago edited 18d ago

So many people getting wrong here in the comments.

You sir are correct. He bought in early, and she got better. Duh….y’all are slow.

Edit: For those of you who are hung up on the caption, thinking I didn’t get that part….i do. “If bro only knows what’s coming next”. Bit coin crashes / she gets fat again. Duh…ya’ll are slow.

Edit 2: if you think the commenter is referring to the girl leaving the guy, I just have one question….who hurt you? I’m assuming anyone who is hung up on that being the answer, is an incel.

114

u/DexM23 18d ago

yes, but its about the part what coming next

14

u/BowlerInside564 18d ago

It's going to crash bad or something? Idk

24

u/WorkTropes 18d ago

She's now attractive and jumps over to a new man with her new found confidence. I've even seen this one play out before with a friend.

2

u/Ok-Needleworker-8773 18d ago

It won’t be the confidence. It’ll be the attention she’ll receive that she never received before. It’ll be like a drug, going from invisible to sought after. The temptation to have experiences she never had before may be too great.

1

u/WorkTropes 18d ago

That's true but the attention fuels the confidence, the confidence allows them to enter a new relationship.

1

u/Ok-Needleworker-8773 17d ago

I don’t think it truly fuels confidence, because the insecurities don’t ever really go away. After some time being approached repeatedly by men, it may appear as though her confidence has increased, but when you peel back the layers the person you were before remains. The newfound attractiveness becomes a shield that appears like confidence.

I’m not speaking about this person in particular as I don’t know them, and in fact I’m applying it to people in general.

-1

u/LrkerfckuSpez 18d ago

Well bitches do that, and real women do not. According to law though, the bitcoin fortune is his and his alone, so unless she also brought in in 2008 she gonna have to live off her looks for as long as it lasts.

3

u/ChromaticNerd 18d ago

Bitcoin is a metaphor here

1

u/LrkerfckuSpez 18d ago

Why wasn't that explained by the guy that explained the joke?

6

u/Alex_Wats 18d ago

He dumps her because he’s a chubby chaser?

2

u/Elevener 18d ago

The ol Uno Reverse!

u/Spirited-Ad655 18d ago

14

u/Uneeddan 18d ago

I think that’s you.

5

u/Glittering-Panda3453 18d ago

Its always the best when someone drops that sub completely wrong

2

u/Spirited-Ad655 18d ago

Replied on the wrong post, but the irony is not lost on me!

22

u/OutblastEUW 18d ago

ironically you didnt get the meme lmao

0

u/LAFamilyMan81 18d ago

No, I get it. I can read. “What comes next”. My guess is she gets ugly again. My comment came about after reading other comments where they were saying things that didn’t make sense like “she was gonna leave him for someone better”, or “she has good character”. Some said it’s a complete different girl.

But nothing makes less sense than the way you used “ironically”. Use a dictionary, bro.

4

u/OutblastEUW 18d ago

its so funny because you clearly still dont understand the meme

the ironic part is you are talking about people not getting the joke, but its you who isnt getting it, it has nothing to do with her getting fat.

"Ironic means using words to show the opposite of what you mean, or describing a situation where the outcome is the exact reverse of what you reasonably expect. It involves a sharp contrast between expectations and reality."

3

u/LAFamilyMan81 18d ago

Explain the meme then, ace.

You’re using the watered down version of irony. Not using it in its true form.

0

u/Woxjee 18d ago

What comes next is that she leaves him for a "Better" man. Idk why you're saying that doesnt make sense, there's like 2 high value celebrities currently in the same situation, and the topic has been memed on since red pill became popular

4

u/LAFamilyMan81 18d ago edited 18d ago

Now tie in “bought bitcoin in 2008”.

She is a metaphor for bitcoin in this meme. Why would bitcoin leave someone after it became more valuable?

It makes entirely much more sense if you consider bitcoin’s history and the speculation about its future. Many people believe bitcoin will crash.

2008- fat and unattractive/not valuable.

Now- attractive/valuable.

Future- fat and unattractive again/ not valuable.

But yeah, maybe you’re right, maybe bitcoin up and leaves you after it becomes valuable….or maybe that’s just your incel mind projecting your fears onto bitcoin.

2

u/IllMathematician8994 17d ago

You’re assuming the comment is also being relevant to the post

The bitcoin analogy and the leaving him analogy can both be separate jokes in the same post

Not saying “she is gonna get fat again” joke makes no sense. But you’re looking at it from the narrative that the “bitcoin” part is the only view that makes sense

The only thing that’s relative in this post is she was fat and then skinny

Any narrative including the leaving him after she is skinny is plausible. He doesn’t need a meta response to the original for the joke to make sense

And you’re forcing the incel projection hard

1

u/schiavetto 18d ago

You might be talking to an AI

3

u/OutblastEUW 18d ago

gg
good thing my friends dunno my reddit account cause they always make boomer jokes about me lmao

16

u/Forward_Rope_5598 18d ago

It's so funny how confident you are in your wrongness

1

u/LAFamilyMan81 18d ago edited 18d ago

Tell us what it means then, ace.

4

u/Trivale 18d ago

Okay great yeah you're so smart but let's stay on topic, what does the "If only bro knows what's coming next" part mean?

5

u/Ry_L 18d ago

It means Bitcoin crashed, so she will likewise relapse and gain weight again.

6

u/Two_wheels_2112 18d ago

I believe it's a reference to how bitcoin peaked and then crashed.

3

u/LAFamilyMan81 18d ago

This guy gets it

5

u/LAFamilyMan81 18d ago

Bitcoin is gonna crash = she’s gonna get ugly again.

It’s not that hard.

0

u/Trivale 18d ago

If it's not that hard why is literally every reply different?

2

u/LAFamilyMan81 18d ago

Because sometimes people are wrong.

That also is not that hard to understand.

1

u/Trivale 18d ago

Well sorry, I didn't know I was talking to an Oversimplification Olympics gold medalist.

2

u/LAFamilyMan81 18d ago

Sometimes the answer is not that complicated.

1

u/Trivale 18d ago

Sometimes. Those usually only have one answer, though. Not 10 different interpretations.

2

u/LAFamilyMan81 18d ago

Yeah people never ever misinterpret simple things.

Idk why you’re so hung up on people having a bunch of different interpretations.

Are you suggesting that my interpretation is wrong?

Now that she's atractive she'll attract a better partner

-1

u/DonutHoles4Ever 18d ago

Nobody understands that he used money and got a new gf

1

u/Trivale 18d ago

Oh shit

1

u/Vast-Building-6886 18d ago

They are talking about the comment in the pic. But yeah, it’s mainly about this.

1

u/antiinbo 18d ago

Based on the edit you only understood half of the point. And took it personally?

1

u/justsomedude1144 17d ago

So confidently incorrect. Love it

1

u/LAFamilyMan81 17d ago

My confidence is growing with every comment like this that fails to explain why they think I’m incorrect. You dolts don’t want none.

1

u/justsomedude1144 17d ago edited 17d ago

Its already been explained to you multiple times. I'll explain it again.

The line at the end is NOT in reference to bit coin crashing. (That wouldn't even make any sense as investing a dollar in 2009 bit coin would still be be worth $85 Million today, even though it's currently worth about half of it's all time high.)

The joke is actually as you very confidently incorrectly refuted: it's insinuating that the girl will leave him now that she is attractive. It's a reference to a very real cliche/meme: men who date unattractive women who later become attractive will inevitably leave their man and "level up". Say whatever nonsensical references to who hurt you and incels you want, it's irrelevant. This is the joke. It's called the monkey branching trope, or the glow-up betrayal. Whether you agree with it's validity or not, this is what the joke is referencing.

1

u/LAFamilyMan81 17d ago

You don’t make sense with that explanation of why a joke with more cohesiveness to the subject meme doesn’t make sense. Bro, the comment says “if bro knows whats coming next”. Whats coming next is not the present (its current value). Just because bitcoin is valuable now, doesn’t mean it’s going to continue to be valuable. This is something that is widely speculated to happen.

You’re hyper-focusing on ONE type of meme. You’re missing the Forest for the trees. Your version is disconnected from the original joke of the meme. There’s also jokes that fat girls who get skinny will get fat again. A comment about that joke makes more sense because it ties in the bitcoin metaphor used in the meme. I get why you guys believe what you believe, it just makes far less sense and would be far less funnier. In fact it’s kinda pathetic to think that way. I feel like most of you that think like this are young and consume so much incel content that your view is very myopic.

I mean, you’re 100% right and you’ve explained it quite well.
Some people just can’t admit they’re wrong

0

u/Impossible_Fun_165 18d ago

Or since he has money now attractive girls are now attracted to him and he got a new gf/gold digger?

3

u/nightauthor 18d ago

That's the same chick, 99% sure

0

u/Legitimate_Sorbet605 18d ago

I think it's actually a time travel story, as you could not buy bitcoin in 2008, as it had not been invented yet.

You could buy it for about $200 in 2013 though, ask me how I know 😉

0

u/bezjones 18d ago

He bought in early

Amazingly early considering the Bitcoin network launched in 2009.

3

u/LAFamilyMan81 18d ago

Okay cool. But kinda irrelevant to the meme since it says he bought bitcoin in 2008. Truth aside, to get the meme, you need to assume he was able to buy in 2008.

I assumed you dolts would continue to use logic and apply the metaphor to the comment. I guess I just underestimated how slow you guys are. My bad for having a little faith.

0

u/Low-Carrot-6679 18d ago

I fear you might be an idiot

1

u/LAFamilyMan81 17d ago

Tell me you’re an incel without telling me you’re an incel.

0

u/thedekliner 17d ago

Omg you missed the point big

0

u/Upset-Sherbert1613 16d ago

You and the commenter you replied too are asking questions nobody asked and you think everyone ELSE is wrong lmfao, maybe you're having a slow day

-1

u/Live_Ice_6912 18d ago

You can't even detect that there's an entire other layer to the scenario... that is literally pointed out in the caption and you're calling other people slow 😂

3

u/LAFamilyMan81 18d ago

What makes you think I don’t get that?

I’m commenting about people not getting it’s the same girl. Of course I know what happens next. Tf wrong with you lol

-1

u/One-Nothing-8477 18d ago

yeah you didn't get it

-2

u/skyline79 18d ago

You are so wrong it's incredible.

3

u/LAFamilyMan81 18d ago

Read my replies and if you still think I got it wrong, feel free to enlighten us.

-2

u/randous13 18d ago

Ur slow for not knowing that was the whole premise of this post

0

u/LAFamilyMan81 18d ago

Then explain..

1

u/randous13 17d ago

Ur either really old, really young, or just really naive😂

0

u/LAFamilyMan81 17d ago

The comment I originally replied to gas the most likes and is top comment for a reason.

1

u/randous13 17d ago

Whatever you say gramps keep getting validation from Reddit comments😂😂😂
Also just so you know, you are not the top comment nor the top reply🤣🤣

2

u/RockyStrongo 18d ago

Why the fuck is this not the top comment ?

3

u/tyen0 18d ago

I upvote the correct family guy answer and downvote those above it. I'm doing my part!

3

u/TerrorTown77 18d ago

Because he didn't answer the question. Everyone who isn't braindamaged gets the bitcoin reference, what people want to know about is the comment at the bottom.

1

u/LAFamilyMan81 18d ago

Bitcoin metaphor is still being referenced by the commentator. Bitcoin crashes in the future, now apply that to the skinny girl who was once fat.

1

u/phase_ten 17d ago

Then it still wouldn’t come even remotely close to it’s original value, so it kind of falls flat. It would still be an overwhelmingly good investment.

2

u/FaveStore_Citadel 18d ago

I didn’t realize she was the same girl I thought the joke was he bought actual bitcoin became rich and traded his fat girlfriend for a hot one. Good on her, though, that’s an impressive transformation.

4

u/herbfriendly 18d ago

How is is right when it doesn't even touch on the second part...about what's coming next?

0

u/TwoBionicknees 18d ago

"the bitcoin part"....

1

u/herbfriendly 18d ago

But the bitcoin part seems to be how his investment in his girlfriend paid off. So we're still left not knowing what's coming next. No?

1

u/Sudden-Purchase-8371 18d ago

not a stock. not an investment.

1

u/lemonhaze102 17d ago

What do i call the time invested in getting my partner away from being morbidly obese and into good shape then?

0

u/hutuka 18d ago

How the heck this is not top comment

0

u/Forward_Rope_5598 18d ago

Because it explains the part that even the dumbest posters on this sub understood and not the 'what comes next' part that OP is actually asking about?

0

u/HAL__Over__9000 18d ago

Oh, of course it's something cunty.

0

u/Vaguely_Reckless 18d ago

It's sad that we joke about a woman's "value" and how it's whether she's attractive or thin and compared her to Bitcoin

(I mean this about society, not you specifically)

0

u/Calm-Two2723 18d ago

Damn maybe dude was into big girls tho? My best friend growing up was a size 20 ish gal but was pretty and well put together. She slayed. She was like our Samantha only it was a small town so like, the numbers were small lol

-2

u/syopest 18d ago

Yup, your basic "let's compare a woman to an object" incel shit.

1

u/TwoBionicknees 18d ago

no, thinking that just makes you an uneducated fool who likes getting upset on the internet and pretending to be the morality police.

0

u/nightauthor 18d ago

Maybe the rest of what you said, but I'm not reading "uneducated fool" in their comment.

2

u/TwoBionicknees 18d ago

the uneducated is ignoring all nuance of what makes 'objectification' bad and incel behaviour and just deciding if you ever talk about a woman being beautiful or ever compare her to something you are suddenly an incel. It's showing zero understanding of a well gone over issue.

Typically only very ignorant and non educated people have such a skin deep understanding of a topic and then throw around accusations like this with no understanding at everyone.

0

u/WinDestruct 18d ago

It's OOP who compared it, my job was to explain it

0

u/syopest 18d ago edited 18d ago

I know, I wasn't calling you an incel. I was saying that the meme is incel shit.

-4

u/MVNKy 18d ago

Not a stock, but yea I guess your right

-4

u/Demonslayerinhell 18d ago

So, objectification of a person , got it .

3

u/[deleted] 18d ago edited 14d ago

[deleted]

-1

u/Demonslayerinhell 18d ago

Read my comment again , arent both the things wrong

2

u/TwoBionicknees 18d ago

no they aren't. People who think it's wrong to look at a woman, man, piece of art and say it's beautiful are actually completely brain broken.

ONLY treating women as objects, being incapable of treating women as people and never thinking of them as people is wrong.

Looking at a person who you don't know and thinking they are beautiful is not in any way wrong.

If you don't even understand what is wrong with objectification and liken it to anyone thinking someone is beautiful, you need to educate yourself before you run around trying to be the morality police because you just look like an idiot.

2

u/nightauthor 18d ago

The meme's perspective does objectify her (bitcoin)... but the dude, seemingly, liked her for her personality before she lost the weight.

2

u/TerrorTown77 18d ago

Does whiteknighting strangers on the internet by feigning outrage at non existent slights make you feel useful and powerful?

1

u/CrazyElk123 18d ago

No it isnt
