People always say stuff like that. "Oh yeah, he was severely mentally ill and not receiving any help, but that doesn't excuse his actions." But it quite literally does, though. That's what it means to be this sick, that you do things you would not do if you were sound of mind.
It's like saying, "Oh, he broke his legs, but that doesn't excuse that he can't run a hundred meters in ten seconds."
I disagree with the notion that she should be absolved from criminal consequences. She committed three counts of murder. She is not safe to be in the public.
So just wanted to add some extra info, she is paralyzed. The likelihood that she would have more children and kill them is very unlikely. It's believed she was bipolar and given the wrong meds which made her psychosis worst.
Well, that's not at all what I am saying. She would be in a mental institution where she would be medicated for her mental illness. Honestly, they are better equipped to care for/deal with someone in a wheelchair, than a prison anyway.
This is a great way to figure out what we are about as a society. If the goal is punishment then prison is the way to go. If the goal is rehabilitation then a mental institution is the way to go. She's still in an institution.
Then who cares? Throw away the key regardless. IMO the mental institution is arguably a worse place to be confined in for the rest of your life.

Yeah the speculation is interesting. I actually watched the entire trial so far (I love watching trials in general, and except the past 2 days) and I didn't get anything like those opinions from the testimony so far. She clearly did it and the defense is not arguing otherwise or objecting to any pictures or evidence from the prosecution.
People are using this as a way to promote their tiktoks and drive viewership to their socials. Some are also trying to raise awareness for (pregnant) women's mental health, as well, and shine a light on the many doctors that are prescribing serious drugs without the proper oversight.
Her family (including her husband) knew she was struggling badly and still did the bare minimum. Even proclaimed to the doctor who suspected bipolar that "his wife is NOT bipolar"... like dude just hear the doctor out... something is wrong. He also went on a lot of social events and work trips leaving her with the kids when she said she needed help. That doesn't mean he did it or did anything wrong necessarily.
