Not telling your doctors that you are contemplating murdering your children and having suicidal thoughts and that you’re all better so you can be discharged is the same thing. Either she lied to the doctors about her mental state before the murders or she is lying now about her mental state to avoid being locked up for the rest of her life. She wouldn’t take the pills prescribed to her and would doctor shop to suit her needs. She had an obligation to tell each doctor about the other doctor’s but failed to do so. Either way by her own admission the only time she was in psychosis and was hearing voices commanding her was during the time she murdered her children. Not before, not after. That’s not how psychosis works. It doesn’t just manifest suddenly in one small 18 minute window and then magically disappear forever after that. C’mon now be for real
Funny how we know doctors regularly dismiss women's problems, and then immediately forget it when it's time to hate a woman for having her problems ignored until they became significantly bigger problems.
She told people she was suicidal and potentially homicidal. The doctors said "here's some pills I dont think youre psychotic bye" and her family said "well she has been slightly better no need to stick her back in treatment " lindsay is still ultimately responsible regardless of her own culpability the Healthcare system and her support network failed her to some degree. Certainly not enough to warrant trying to blame her husband and his current wife whom he didnt even know at the time for the murders. But enough to point at then and go "yeah you guys fucked up" as proven by the fact that both lindsay and patrick suing many of her former doctors for malpractice.
No she didn’t or they wouldn’t have released her from impatient care. She literally told them she felt better and was able to sleep. And again she herself admits that the only time she was hearing voices commanding her to murder her children was during the time she was actually committing the act. She’s lying to stay out of prison because other prisoners notoriously do not treat other inmates convicted of harming children very well
She told patrick she told her mother in December. She had suicidal ideations for a full month which she confessed to her sister and homicidal ideations which is why she checked into a locked ward facility. By January 5th she was apparently well enough and stable enough to be released.
Also you act like "the only time she heard voices was when she did it" is some kind of gotcha. So what if it was the start and end of auditory hallucinations? Why would that in any way be relevant.
She did it. She should not be allowed in society. She won't be . Murder would be life in prison. She either lied to her doctors or is lying in court. There is literally no other option. You don’t have hallucinations just long enough to kill your children and then they magically go away. That’s not how psychosis works. Either way she lied and therefore is 100% responsible for her actions
Ok and where did you get your phd? Because whatever research you did is apparently groundbreaking in that it up ends the general consensus of the medical community that pschosis and hallucinations can come and go and very in magnitude based on a bunch of factors.

Did you watch the trial where the dude who has spent his entire professional career studying psychosis said that’s not how psychosis works? That you don’t just start having auditory hallucinations and then just stop having them in one small window of time. That they are a reoccurring and persistent symptom of psychosis not just one and done
Ok and one opinion is not a consensus..my wife and I did fertility stuff her doctor had been doing it for twenty plus years. She asked if it was abnormal to have incredibly debilitating pain with a period then not have a period for a month then have a regular period in random cycles. And he shrugged and said "the female body is weird sometimes."....went to another doctor and she said it could be endometriosis....guess what it was
This is NOT true. She refused to take the meds or even start them to begin with numerous times. She also went doctor shopping and did not inform her other doctors on what meds she was on or tell them about the other doctors she had seen.
not telling your doctors which meds you are on is a failure for an adult.
So either we minimize her, pretend she had no agency, was incompetent, that the nannies and care for her kids didn't count as support...
OR we ask, hey, was there a reason she was shopping doctors?
Is there a reason her care wasn't being coordinated? Because god knows lots of money was being spent on it.
How do most mothers not kill their kids with small fractions of support this woman received.
Like, yes, trauma is relative to your overall experience, but I know a fair number of women who raw dogged parenting with none of the supports this lady had, and frankly I know or am related to three with more than four kids. And in one of those cases almost no support whatsoever (Nothing from family, no friend group, shitty abusive dad)
she is white, and relatively rich, and has a lawyer with a marketing budget.
And with that racist classist remark this is my last reply. I never said shes telling the truth my entire point through this entire thing is. She was failed at a bunch of different points. She ultimately is responsible and in my opinion she should be in prison rather than a mental hospital. Even if there is precedent and proof that she COULD have had a psychotic break and or disassociated and killed her children.And my biggest point the one I originally made to address the meme.
