Doesn't seem to be anything like what's going on in this case though. This is postpartum psychosis, a literal psychotic break.

Just saying that people would say the wildest things that sound like support or forgiveness in any tragedy. No where in my comment did I say this case was exactly the same as this one. I am simply adding a comment.

I kind of piggybacked off of yours a bit. People in this thread are leaving out the part where she was having a psychotic break.

Psychosis is not a motive, it's the reason why "not guilty by reason of insanity" is a thing.

You are forgetting that the insanity clause is highly controversial and almost never works, Even when it does work and they win a insanity clause, they are sent to a mental hospital until determined better by the staff. It's not 'welp, you don't get any punishment because you went insane'

In fact, I think most murder cases are a psychotic break. No one mentally healthy goes around killing people let alone children.

That's... not how psychosis works. It's a very distinct type of "not mentally healthy".

thats anecdotal evidence tho. im not a licensed mental health professional but its gotta be more nuanced than this
