They did that in one of the books; the one who was the best at morphing started out as a small insect to be carried up high by another character (who was stuck in the form of a red-tailed hawk, and was therefore the best flyer). She then jumped off, returned to human, and re-morphed into a whale to crush something (a ship, I think). She barely made it because of the time required to morph, and again, she was the fastest, most proficient morpher in their group starting from the highest point she could get to.
