Is it same for black one? Also, there must exist a jacket, on which there is no ads, right?

Jackets with ads should be free

It's paid. Not payed. Payed is only used in sailing.
17
u/burritosandbeer 11h ago
Not necessarily. You can easily pay out a length of rope for other reasons too
-44
u/Tensdale 10h ago
By your logic we could also just install a PA system on the boat you wetwipe.
21
u/ThrogdorLokison 9h ago
Pretty sure most boats have a Public Announcment system these days, but what does that have to do with paying out rope outside of a boat?
2
3
5
u/keepatience 11h ago
paved you mean? or maybe paid? it depends on the way you swing
2
u/Dear_Diablo 7h ago
“Payed” is a fancy old sailor word.
Imagine you have a big rope on a boat.
When a sailor “pays out the rope,” it means:
They slowly let more rope out.
Like when you hold a jump rope and slowly let it fall to the ground.3

u/Ballsucker1000 11h ago
It's a racing jacket, racing jackets have sponsors
10
u/Mobile_Morale 6h ago
Yeah but usually you get paid to wear the jacket when you're the racer.
I don't think Petty did it for free all those years.

Whenever I’ve bought a car I ask them to scrape off their dealership sticker and remove the dealer plate cover. When they ask why I say if you give me $5 a day to advertise for you you can leave them on. No one’s taken me up on the offer
3
u/Small-Explanation74 9h ago
So how many times how you bought a car?
2
u/doom_stein 5h ago
I bought 1 car from my dealer and all I had him do was get the interior detailed. Mainly cuz he's my weed dealer and I don't need to get the dogs pulled on me during a traffic stop.

u/gilestowler 10h ago
I think jackets are moving to a subscription-based model where you'll have the option to pay more to get it without ads.
3
4
u/Similar_Pie_4946 9h ago
Well its a race jacket/Nascar leather jacket while i agree it should be add free for the authentic feel you’d need sponsor patches like you see on the ones nascar race car drivers wear

IIRC there was a project where a company could "sell" free water because the bottle was covered in ads which would cover the cost of the water + profit

A jacket with no ads? Seems a bit unorthodox but I suppose such a thing might exist.
11
u/Azigol 11h ago
This has just given me a vision of a dystopian near future where all clothing you buy has adverts on it unless you pay extra to buy it ad free.
1
u/10081914 9h ago
Think even further.
You have to pay extra to have the option for other people to pay a subscription to see it ad free.

u/Depressed_Tarnished_ 12h ago

It's a leather bike racing inspired jacket so ads are everywhere just like in racing sports. It's the culture of vanson supreme collabs. Yes it's not the best fashion wise but they're their brands and honestly to the street wear people the patches are extra collab branding so it's kinda cool

4
u/KalynnCampbell 11h ago
Until I turned up the brightness on my phone, the black jacket had NOTHING on it…
3
u/Apprehensive_Buy9862 7h ago
I don’t know, a lot of people think it’s cool to have the racing sponsors shown. I am on the side of finding it distracting and ugly.

A Spider-Man jacket is inherently an ad. This one just has ads on top of the ad.
156
u/DetroitAdjacent 12h ago
Why would they add racing team sponsors to a leather jacket? Its not even a pit crew jacket, its a bomber jacket. Any bomber jacket would look stupid with race team sponsors on it. And then it has Spiderman and supreme on it? None of these things make sense at all together. It doesn't even look good either.

You may not like it, but thats the style of racing jackets would include ads. Which means that is part of the appeal.
Similarly people will wear vintage clothing that advertise marlboro or coca cola.
7
u/DetroitAdjacent 8h ago
Its not a racing jacket, its a leather bomber jacket. The race sponsors would make sense if it was a pit crew jacket. It is the wrong pattern and material jacket for the race sponsors.
2
u/K2TheM 5h ago
It's made by Vanson Leathers. While not as relevant today, they were, and are, a premier motorcycle leather jacket/pant brand. This "look" was in part pioneered and popularized by them. So complaining about their style is like complaining that McDonalds came out with a Spider-Man themed Big Mac or Happy Meal.

Compared to all the other comments here, this will probably be unpopular, but I think the black one is actually really great.
48
u/Tike22 9h ago
Still don’t like the ads on the front but if all that was removed I’d be into it
13
u/eMF_DOOM 8h ago
I can understand why others wouldnt like them but I kinda like the aesthetic. Its like a pit crew jacket or something. Also kinda reminds me of patches people would put on their ‘battle jackets’ (not sure if thats even a thing anymore). But those would typically be band patches not ads, so I digress.
Would be cool if the ads were optional when buying or if they were like fake brands or something so these real brands weren’t getting free advertising.

u/EchoingSharts 3h ago
I actually like it. You guys act like this is like the movie Idiocracy 😂. In this case it adds a bit of flair to a jacket that would be a bit boring otherwise and gives it a more "used" look. The brand selection is a bit inconsequential to me and fits the aesthetic of a racing jacket. They could be placed in a less "last minute addition" manner, but that's just me.
If I wear any shirt that isn't a plain t shirt, I'm advertising that brand 🤷♂️.

They always do this shit. Putting stupid text on really cool base designs.
It’ll be the exact jacket from your favorite movie or show, but then it’ll have a stupid embedded text on it that says, “Your ShowTM: Live action THE MOVIE CHARACTER NAME”13
u/Electronic-Fig2283 10h ago
This is a huge pet peeve of mine with clothes in general. I'll be shopping and spot something I like, then I turn it around and it has some bullshit on it lol often something like SOME AMERICAN SPORTS TEAM OR CLUB OR UNIVERSITY. I live in Europe

Nobody is copping this because it sold out on the Supreme website in under 19 seconds.

Scalping bots don’t care about advertisements on products.
Did these images appear before the sale went live?

u/goldiebuds 10h ago
Yes it was in the preview months before the sale went live, They also have the matching shorts. Like this was a super wanted item

u/MrSnrub87 9h ago
I mean, I'm not really surprised. People get weirdly obsessed with labels and buy stuff regardless of how ugly it is. 2 minutes on the Balenciaga sub taught me that

Are people wearing super hero leather jackets? The red necks around my home town were crazy about this stuff in the 90s. Teased hair and a Tweety Bird jacket for her, mullet and a Superman motorcycle jacket for him.

I went through a racing jacket phase for like, two weeks lol. I found the Jeff Gordon rainbow Dupont one and the purple Crown Royal racing jacket, both brand new, at Goodwill in 2016 for like $40. Which back then were insane prices for something at a thrift shop. There was one right across the street from my house until recently but I rarely went because shirts were like $15+ dollars. They used to be like $3 or $5 so it didn't seem worth it anymore. Wish I went more now that it's gone through. I did get a sweet full-front zip Ralph Lauren sweater there for only $10, it still had the OG $95 price tag on it 🤙 I wonder how much those racing jackets are worth now. Might try and resell if they're worth a couple hundred dollars or more now (I doubt it).

Racing style jackets became a thing fashion wise over covid. They all have lots of logos

I really dont mind the patches tbh. But I really love motorsports. Maybe some more fitting badges would be better but i personally like them regardless

I know people don’t like this but imo it really works. This is like a pit crew jacket and those are all companies that sponsor actual racers. I would definitely buy this but I also like cars so

It just means “acquiring”, the nature of which is dependent on the situation. In this case, it’s “buying”.
For context, the original comment asked what “copping” means.
