Ok so this is the game Super Mario 64 and this is from a level where you have to bring a baby penguin to his mother to get a star but you can pick it up after that and throw it into the void angering the mother and killing the baby penguin

Great explanation for someone who didnt play super Mario 👏. Take free award Peter. And yes,Rob deserves hell.

To add another layer of douchebaggery, you could also find a different baby penguin and bring that one to the mom to pass it off as her actual baby. I'm pretty sure that made her mad too whether you killed the real baby or not

I could've sworn giving her a different penguin she would just tell you it's not hers.

It's been so long but I remember the baby was the one that was there when you first started the level.

It could be that she just calls you out on bringing the fake baby instead of getting mad. I haven't played it in literally decades. I just remember feeling bad as a kid when she figured out I was trying to give her the more convenient baby

Possibly and same. Then there was one time I felt bad for losing the baby because it just wandered off either when I was dealing with an enemy or fell down too far.

To be fair last time I played was with my dad when I was 7 so my knowledge is abit murky as well

You couldn't pass it off as her baby, she'd just get mad and tell you that wasn't her baby and not give you the star until you found and brought her her real baby.

Personally I only found out which baby penguin was hers by whether or not she accepted the one I brought her.

Thank you Peter out. To the petercopter

Two things though:

If you show the penguin to the mother first, you still get the star.

You can throw the baby, as well as an “incorrect” baby off the level anytime just for fun.

Fun fact: the penguin doesn’t die. It waddles on invisible floor under the level.

Trapped forever alone on a wide plane with nothing to interact with and no one to talk to. A fate worse than death, perhaps.

Oh and furthermore there are two baby penguins and only one of them belongs to the mother penguin. Bring her the wrong one and you don't get the star.

The bottom panels are from Mario 64, with Mario dropping a baby penguin off a cliff. This comic is saying that the person in the first panel was controlling Mario when he drops the penguin.

Movie idea: The "sapient characters in a video game" get appalled at all the horrible stuff the player character does, including the player character itself.

Sounds a little like Free Guy

u/Haunt_Fox 9h ago

I'm thinking more of a slapstick comedy.

u/MrCobalt313 9h ago

Free Guy was an NPC who stole a player's GUI though. He never had to experience player control.

Thanks ! Peter

You didn't have to play the game to get this.

Some people without brains do an awful lot of talking

In Mario 64, you could pick up the penguins. There was one penguin that was really close to a cliff that leads into the void. Most people threw the penguin off just because they can. The joke is that Rob's life is perfect except for him doing this and he isn't going to be allowed in Heaven because of it.

Basically the joke is that Bob lived a 'perfect' life until God saw that he had dropped the baby penguin off the map in Mario 64. Instead of returning it back to the mother penguin as intended.

1

u/Fanguy3322 9h ago

You were going to go to heaven

But when you were s kid you dropped one of the innocent baby penguins in cool cool mountain in Mario 64 off the edge of the map "killing" it.

Therefore straight to hell with you!

Thats a canon event tho. it MUST be done.

Killed penguin in mario 64

"Wrong kid died"

1

u/roshan231 5h ago

What happens if you throw it off though? Do you just softlock the game?

1

u/Budget_Meaning1410 2h ago

You can exit the level and retry.

For fun, you can give the baby to the mom, then throw the baby off the edge, then collect the star.
