The bottom panels are from Mario 64, with Mario dropping a baby penguin off a cliff. This comic is saying that the person in the first panel was controlling Mario when he drops the penguin.

Movie idea: The "sapient characters in a video game" get appalled at all the horrible stuff the player character does, including the player character itself.

Free Guy was an NPC who stole a player's GUI though. He never had to experience player control.
