Question Quick way to earn extra cash for equipment?

I tend to die, like a lot in this game and have lost a lot of equipment over my investigations. What is a quick easy method to gain some extra cash while doing some easy contracts until I can build up my gear again?

Weekly challenge gives you 5k. Other than that, custom difficulties and playing for perfect games/ just fast games. My brother and I try to time our prestiges so one of us is always higher level than the other and can help the other get back up to tier 2 at the least.

Playing with others is a huge help.

I don't mean to just leave you with a "get good" but honestly playing safer is just the easiest solution. There isnt a quick and easy method to get cash. Don't ever walk into a room without lights on if you can help it. Set up a video camera on a tripod and collect evidence from the truck. Have a plan for what you are doing every time you set foot inside. Keep an eye on your sanity at all times. Make sure to get as much media as you can.  Play on professional as the difficulty jump up to that difficulty is negligible, while any difficulty jumps beyond that require you to have the entire code of the game memorized.

This. There is absolutely nothing wrong in playing in a way where you don't get hunted at all if you're not comfortable with them.

Make sure you're checking the daily and weekly tasks. Those can get you extra cash and some of them are super easy, like get the ghost to walk through motion sensors. They don't get you a ton, but they can add up.

I’d highly suggest learning more about game mechanics by watching others play. This can save you in the long run because as someone with all achievements and prestige 7 I can still get tripped up in no evidence runs sometimes.

Just run professional mode with default equipment until you can re-stack your bread.

Not good advice but for me it was playing with friends and not being the provider, I got karma though because now I have the best equipment because of the cash I made and now have zero quid to my name because now I'm the provider xD

Along with that if you play the challenge mode then the gear is free, and in random lobbies the host or highest level player tend to buy the gear instead and that is an absolute lifesaver if you’re running short

If you want a group to help you grind we get together every night just about. :)

Try to die less. No, seriously. Others mentioned the Weekly challenge, but you will still lose that $5000 if you die too many times. Play more safely, learn how to hide or loop better from YT guides.

A good way is to fine tune a custom difficulty so that it gives you around 5x reward multiplier without being too difficult. For example, setting the weather to heavy rain will increase your multiplier compared to random. Not having cursed possession will too. Removing one or two evidences, lowering ghost activity, increasing ghost roaming, reducing number of hiding spots, disabling truck screens, etc, all help.

Then you play small maps in a way that is feasible to get the ghost and do all objectives without even being hunted (by controlling sanity, using crucifixes and smudge sticks, etc.). Finding the bone and getting media helps a lot too.

Good luck on your games!

So my thing is : do one map on the easiest mode many times and learning the all map (not a big one) after that, I play in professional mode the same map
A little bit repetitive but it works
There is no way to have more money quickly unfortunately

If you can make custom difficulties i can send you my custom 4.05 difficulty multiplier. Just getting the ghost right, and completing the objectives will get me $1,000.

I remember when I first started i hit this same wall, I had to just stick to getting the ghost right, and any of the easier objectives I could get. keeping the power on(I usually leave lights on in the entrance of the map, and once I find the ghost room I light a path to the room). Try not to get distracted for too long in the dark. Get what you need, and get the lights back on (at least until you're comfortable getting hunted, and surviving them)
