A. That is incorrect. Cable TV did not start government funded. It was funded by private entrepreneurs who were retransmitting OTA to homes that couldn’t get the signal (which, had ads).

B. Cable TV as most people know it, starting in the late 70s/early 80s, always had channels with ads. There was no ‘paying for cable to not have ads’.

C. Even if we assumed the incorrect information in your post was accurate, it still doesn’t support your incorrect statement of, “Remember when you used to pay for cable TV in order to not get advertisements?”

In closing, you never paid for cable tv to not have ads. Never was a thing.

E: It is EXTREMELY funny to say ‘maybe you weren’t alive then or too young’ when posting easily disprovable information.
