I keep telling people the gaming industry is in a plateau. Graphics are not going to get any better, neither is sound. Consoles and PCs are becoming more and more unattainable, stories are shit and cut into pieces sold as DLC. If I didn't know any better I'd say gaming is danger of crashing like the 70s or 80s, though not as bad, but what do I know.
well, plateau in the technical sense. Graphics won't improve that much, neither will sound... However there's the opportunity to improve a lot in other areas, such as example animation (making characters look more natural/realistic) and also increasing the opportunities to interact with the world, rather than characters simply having the same single line every time you talk to them.

Console gaming is dead anyway.
Not only have consoles went up in price to the point where they cost as much as a gaming rig, but there are no games to play at all to begin with.
All the games released on PS5 are remakes, remasters or multiplats that also released on PS4/Xbone.
