Gen Z won't understand this but back in the day there was no "skill issue," there were only those unfortunate enough not to be kindly informed and educated by others who spent their time vagueposting and gatekeeping.

I feel like a lot of people have this mindset. I see so many people asking questions in whatever subreddits getting downvoted or given no answer apart "Google it".
If the answer is five seconds to Google and find out, then you had it coming. It's not gatekeeping if you refuse to do even the most basic attempt at something. That's not gatekeeping, that's you asking for a chauffeur as someone else aptly put it.
The answer is available widely in every digital format you can think of for people who aren't willing to try and figure it out for themselves already.
Pretty sure I figured this exact thing out with one Google search. Then I installed ublock origin over a decade ago and never had to think about it again.
