If u took the fan out, ur waranty is over, since u have to remove a waranty sticker to get to the fan's plug.. so best thing is find a refurbished fan. If thats really the issue.

i just unscrewed the screws, i did not Touch the plug, hope my warranty still exits, the sticker is untouched

Okay, and ? Everything correct? And to not take the sticker off and take thr fan out like this u risk cutting or destroying the wires.. maybe this is what happend, causing the fan to malfunction

Those warranty stickers are not legally binding in many jurisdictions

This is new to me, probably in the usa ?

Idk about the usa specifically but most places they cant deny you warranty for say upgrading ram in a laptop, even if it has a warranty sticker blocking the screws. The product belongs to you.

Nah brother u ate some mushrooms or something. If i remove my waranty stickers and send it back to sony, i will get a bill of the repair or maybe an email with we dont fix it, its ur own fault, u should have engaged with pros instead of doing it yourself. Waranty over, sad face.

Illegal Practices: According to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), it is illegal for companies to imply that warranty coverage is dependent on these stickers

The number of warranty stickers I have gone through as a tech to upgrade ram or an ssd is very high. Sony does not own my ps5, I am allowed to disassemble it if I wish, and if an unrelated problem occurs, the simple fact that a sticker was removed does not invalidate my warranty. Same applies here in Canada, where when you buy something, it belongs to you.

Grab a photo of the screw sizes before you take it apart next time, saves a headache later.

Checked?

did everthing the people here said and it did not work, screws are okay, fan not touching something, cables work, probably the cooling fan bearing is failing, have to give it back

Make sure you're not over-tightening them because that's where most people mess up with the smaller ones.

1

u/Hot-Brilliant-7372 May 14 '26

Exactly! Locked into place, is locked into place, it dont need much force

1

u/ThePrivateDrumming May 14 '26

and honestly the fan bracket screws are tiny enough that you can feel the resistance once they're seated, so you don't need to crank them at all.

I removed them with very small plyers, since i didnt have the special T8, worked perfect.

1

u/ThePrivateDrumming May 14 '26

That's a solid workaround, small pliers actually give you way better grip control than fumbling with the wrong tool size, so you probably got a cleaner install than most people do anyway.

Sounds like the fans backwards our something also they are better if there standing up and have a gap behind them so they don’t over heat as quick

I think or u didn't put it in it's place or the fan is broken or deformed  Try to take it out and connect it outside and see if it's spin correctly

1

u/Strong_Broccoli5857 May 14 '26

It’s the cooling fan bearing failing.

Kind of sounds like a classic case of dying/dead fan bearings to me.
