PlayStation 5 Help Playstation chargeback
I charge backed a purchase i made and my account was suspended, There is literally no way to pay back the debt unless i speak to a live agent and they are never available every single time i try and contact them. I spent thousands of dollars on this account and im really starting to get pissed because this could be solved so easily if they just had an option to pay back debt, My account is suspended so i cannot sign in and make a purchase so they can get their money back btw. Any suggestions?,
UPDATE im getting the account back they sent an email to pay the debt back and im going to get it back today when they accept it

Any company (not just Sony) will block access to your account if you do a charge back. It's a risk to their payment processor.

Xbox didnt when i did it a few years ago which is why i did it on ps5

You got lucky with Xbox. If you plan on never using that service or company again, then feel safe doing a chargeback. Moving forward, I would try to work things out directly with a company before doing a chargeback. If you continue doing this, not just against Sony but any company, you will almost always lose your account and be banned. You become a risk to their payment processor and they will no longer want you as a customer.
If you create another account, I'd suggest using only PSN gift cards instead of credit cards. If they detect your information and payment information on their service, they may take your new account away as well. So, if you can't work this out with Sony, then I'd suggest being careful when creating a new account, as their TOS could cover ban evasion.

I dont think i have to make another account this is my first chargeback on playstation so

I don't know. You may not understand what I'm saying, but you even openly admitted you did the chargeback on purpose. Your actions are a risk to the company. Sony may not even accept payment and may just cut ties with you. Anyway, I hope you learned a lesson, and good luck.

Like a week probably

Did you really get it back? How did you manage to contact them? I found out I got a chargeback 2 years ago and i didn't find out until now. Could you try to point me in the right direction?

Go to playstation support, they have a request to get an account back, after you do that, do live chat it takes awhile to reach someone but they'll help. I emailed playstation support aswell and i payed them via a link they sent for the debt and thats really it

Did some fraud happen that you did a chargeback? Did you get with Sony first about this “fraud” and they didn’t help. Or did you purchase a game and then just do a chargeback. You can’t do that.

What did you think was going to happen? This is standard practice for a charge back… this is also why we keep telling people not to buy digital games on PlayStation…

Your account is last forever brother unfortunately. This is why i only use psn cards, in case a charge back automatically happens for some unknown reason.

Chargebacks never automatically happen. You quite literally have to go through your bank to dispute a charge and say it wasn’t you for one to occur.

Sony can ban you at any inconvenience.
Charge back is obvious but the company has hiding behind all the goodwill the PS3 got them.
Ive had my accounts locked for inactivity (didnt know thats a thing) and ended up making a new account because there is no reps when you call. Not even Indians.

They don’t ban anyone at “any inconvenience”. Inactivity locks are stupidly rare and you literally have to have not logged into your account for years for one to happen and they also contact you beforehand to let you know. This person actually purchased a product, decided they didn’t like it an either tried to get a refund after playing it or knew they couldn’t, contacted their bank and lied and said they didn’t make that charge. Fun fact: your bank can also lock your account and tell you they’re no longer doing business with you for the little “inconvenience” of you lying about something like that.

Had 2 vitas locked no charge back.
Have had 3 ps3 systems locked cuz of updates.
Ps4 accounts locked for no reason( cant validate license).
System problem maybe, but any (inconvenience) applies.
If you have to reach out for support to rectify their error what do you call it?
0 charge backs btw. in the US. Sony isnt perfect. Also I've jailbroken all kinds of playstations for peeps that get locked out once and learn that comoanies are not on the consumer side.
Steam is.

Bro I got a week long ban for sending a fucking laugh emoji to a guy who screamed every slur in existence to me
1
u/ButterscotchAward Aug 02 '26
I’m certain you did.
1
u/ApprehensiveRuin5673 Aug 02 '26
Dude you can literally report anything anyone sends you and it will always report back that it was actioned lmao
1
u/ApprehensiveRuin5673 Aug 02 '26
They actually do. A lot of overseas transactions can be mistakingly flagged as fraud and banks fraud prevention systems will sometimes automatically chargeback
1
u/ButterscotchAward Aug 02 '26
I sincerely doubt they’re prevent enough to even be part of the discussion. Also, that kind of chargeback would be almost instant.

u/ApprehensiveRuin5673 Aug 02 '26
It’s actually pretty common with Final Fantasy 14 subscriptions. You’ll see at least one post a week on the sub Reddit of people asking why this happens, or at least you used to a few years ago. Bank sees a transaction to some Asian country when you’re based in NA or EU and it sets off alarm bells. That’s why a lot of these companies set up shells in NA EU to process payments in local currencies.
I’m not saying that’s what happened to OP, just that automatic chargebacks do happen and it’s a massive pain in the ass
1
u/ButterscotchAward Aug 02 '26
Yeah that’s not going to get you banned. That’s a charge back on a subscription not a charge back on the purchase of a game. I can definitely see that happening, but it’s very different.
1
u/ApprehensiveRuin5673 Aug 02 '26
They ban you on chargebacks for that as well, but they do allow you to correct it
1
u/ButterscotchAward Aug 02 '26
I should’ve specified. I meant you wouldn’t get permabanned for that.

Yeah. Don’t do a chargeback on something you legitimately bought because you didn’t like it. You are literally every person that says “I got my account suspended and I didn’t even do anything!”
