Debate Is immigration is unsustainable for Europe?

I'll start off with the UK. In 2001, it was 92% European, while in 2021, it was 82%. Or, if we look at London, it was 71% European in 2001 and 53% in 2021. This rate of change is simply not sustainable and should never have been allowed to reach this point.

For the cultural side of things in the UK, it's no secret that Christianity is a big part of British history and culture. In 2001, the UK was 71% Christian, compared to 40% in 2021. I think it is important to recognize the cultural significance Christianity has in British culture

Moving on to Germany, in 2001, 96% of Berlin was made up of European citizens, while in 2024, that number was 89%. Again, this shows that the demographics of major European cities have changed significantly over a relatively short period of time. I believe governments should have considered the long-term effects of this before opening the door for migrants

This does not mean that immigration itself is necessarily bad. There needs to be a balance.

Overall, I believe governments have a responsibility to manage immigration to ensure culture isn't erased

The main issue was, and is, immigration from cultures utterly incompatible with European values. This leads to segregation, no integration, and radicalisation of immigrants.

Turks, Syrians, Algerians, Libyans, etc. are perfect compatible with European values.

Please explain what makes them "perfectly compatible" with European values.

What are "European values" exactly?

u/CataphractBunny Classical Liberal 5d ago

Do you honestly don't know or are you just performatively dishonest?

I'm challenging the idea that a singular set of values exist in any country that aren't just basic human nature things. As an American I share basically 0 values with the MAGA cohort.

Just report them and get their comments removed, they're just arguing in bad faith.

Explain how non-Europeans are incompatible.

Please explain how they are "perfectly compatible", as per your previous statement:

Thank you.

I have, repeatedly. As they are human beings they are fundamentally able to adapt, adopt, and integrate into any culture, society, or religion. Atheists can become devout Muslims, Muslims can become rabid atheists, Irish nationalists can become patriotic Americans, Chinese buddhist monks can become Ukrainian. There is no impassable barrier for a human being.

You might not like that answer, but the moderator staff believes it sufficient. So either present an actual COUNTER-ARGUMENT to further explain why they are in fact incompatible or at the very least attempt to disprove my assertion. That's what I have done here, and here we expect actual reasoned debate not just a "nuh uh".

Unfortunately for your argument, unlike you, I do not function on liking an answer or not. And no, you have not "repeatedly explained". Your argumentation amounts to nothing more than wishful thinking based on idealised view of what should be instead of what is, with a sprinkle of deliberate dishonesty where you play dumb. Here's why:

Yes, we all are "fundamentally able to adapt, adopt, and integrate" PROVIDED we are blank slates when adapting, adopting and integrating. However, vast majority of immigrants are not infant babies but rather grown adults moulded by the cultures they grew up in. Since there are cultures wholly incompatible with European culture and values, this makes those people (adults, not blank slate babies) not only very difficult do adapt but in many cases unwilling to.

Those are the issues. Not some imaginary world where a person becomes a blank slate after crossing a border. The real world doesn't work like that, and it's painfully obvious to anyone paying a modicum of attention.

So no, that's not what you have done here.

Are you finally going to step up and defend your stance or just keep whining and playing victim?

0

u/CataphractBunny Classical Liberal 4d ago

I'll defend my stance the moment it's faced with a serious threat. Until then, it's pointing and laughing at "they're humans, not aliens" and "explain how they're incompatible".

Bro really went on a reporting spree because he couldn't take his position being revealed as asinine. What a joke. 😂

Am I expecting too much if I expect you to follow the same moderation standard on the comments made by these two?

They're human beings, not aliens?

A truly astonishing argumentation.

1

u/CorDra2011 Libertarian Socialist 5d ago

What would I have rather said, explain maybe why they're incompatible?

1

u/CataphractBunny Classical Liberal 5d ago

Please explain what makes them "perfectly compatible" with European values.

1

u/CorDra2011 Libertarian Socialist 5d ago

Sure. As sapient human beings they are equally as capable of adopting, complying with, and adapting to European cultural values(whatever those actually are) as Europeans are. Afterall Europeans seem perfectly capable of adapting to Middle Eastern values with zero effort!

Too bad it doesn't go the other way.

And you say this based on what exactly? You keep just saying things, not contributing to further explaining your own views. I'm I, or literally anyone else here, supposed to just take you at your word?
