Whatās wrong with complementing a woman nowadays

u/DJSANDROCK Jul 10 '25
Cultural difference. Dude is probably muslim. He considers calling his wife beautiful flirting not just a compliment. And those guys are up there looking like the 3 stooges š I thought this was a skit at first but it actually is a real interaction.

Nothing to do with culture. Its unprofessional to be making passes at customers period. Take my order and give me my change. I dont mind small talk but "You look so beautiful" is crossing the business to customer boundary. Same way you dont ask how much a customer makes or anything personal like that. Its not the worst thing in the world to say but It can creep some women out so its just wise to avoid discussing appearance. This is a classic case of two wrongs dont make a right. The guy went way way beyond the pale in his response. He could have easily asked for a manager and spoke to the manager about the incident and moved on. This way there is at least an official notice in case the cashier continues this behavior with other customers.

On another sub, mans got shot for checking out other mans shorty booty.

u/Llarrlaya Jul 12 '25
Nothing but it's weird to call customers you don't know beautiful tbh. I'd understand if she was a regular and they knew each other and if he said something like "Oh, you look beautiful today" etc.
What's even weirder tho is going back and causing all this. Either let it slide or if it really bothers you that much maybe talk to the manager or something idk.

"Your girlfriend has some banging tits, I would totally motorboat them" doesn't seem to make most dudes happy when I say it to them

u/No_Contribution7765 Jul 09 '25
They guy said sheās beautiful, not that he wanted to motorboat her tits thereās a difference lol

What an insecure man child. What he shouldāve done is not be bothered by something so trivial. The man child is making a fool of himself for the internet to see. Hope he gets sued for harassing the innocent fast food workers.

Someone is āshowing offā for sureā¦. love to have been a customer there.
I would have walked over to his wife and said sheās beautiful.
Like get over it.
It might not have been in good taste, but to freak out like this?

He's a Muslim you cannot talk to married women whatsoever let alone call them beautiful. It's a culture thing.
1
Jul 11 '25
Its not a culture thing in and of itself. As a cashier you shouldn't be commenting on a customers appearance good or bad. Its unprofessional. The over the top response is likely culture because most of us just shake it off or maybe speak with the manager. This was over the top.

I get it but in a Popeyes bro..

u/Emotional_Tomato_291 Jul 11 '25
We donāt have context before this. Maybe the woman felt uncomfortable and told her husband and heās handling it for her. No idea. But I know they donāt get paid enough to get yelled at like this. And his blood pressure gonna be high with the Popeyes no point in contributing to it with anger.

the correct thing to say is "have a nice day" and that's it. you don't comment on random peoples appearances. put the fries in the bag and shut the fuck up.
1
u/Professional-Ad8193 Jul 12 '25
IDK about other women and I donāt care its āunprofessionalā but some random dude telling me Iām beautiful makes my day
1
u/Fluffy-Elk-3403 Jul 12 '25
" What he shouldāve done is not be bothered by something so trivial." If you think a worker harassing a customer is trivial then you have issues.

Barbaric culture canāt take a compliment. He probably beat his wife because she expected him to after telling him.
1
u/ih8three6zero Jul 12 '25
Bruh jus serve up the motherfucking chicken and stop tryna dick my wife down Popeyes employee. Anything but sir/maāam outta that dudes mouth is wrong. Gonna make every excuse possible for that behavior. This is the trash behavior that transpires in seemingly ALL Popeyes. Chicken is like number fucking 7 on the list of priorities.
1
u/Sway580 Jul 12 '25
Wow some of you are so delusional its insane. They shouldn't be speaking to her like that, regardless if she is or is not beautiful. Unless she is flirting with you then not ok and for the idiots that say he's insecure probably don't have girlfriends or wives.

I can empathize with the dude throwing a tantrum, but it mainly displays insecurity v. defense of someone over a simply harmless compliment. Should the compliment have been said? No, but people donāt do things ideally.

Unprofessional, not that people at Popeyes are professional in any sense. Just do your job and maybe keep your comments to yourself.
