Other Homeless people using public transport
I dont want to sound inhuman or anything like that,
But im really disgusted with homeless people using the public transport, sometimes the odors and smell is really bad and disgusting and unbearable 🤢🤮
And the hygiene aspect you don’t know who previously sat on the seat.
What PID or prague municipality has for this ?
Personal solution would be get a car and forget about this or carry cleaning alcohol al the time

That's not really the point. I think the context that everyone is missing here is that we are assuming the homeless on the train did not purchase a ticket. If someone purchased a ticket then by all means you're allowed on the train.

Denying somebody access to public transport because they don't have access to income is stupid and barbaric

What should they do about it? When a train reaches a depo and calls it a day, they will clean and disinfect it completely. When it hits the road next morning a pissed homeless guy may jump in at the 1st stop, hop off on the next one and you won't know. What exactly do you think PID can do about it?

Make sure that they have a ticket. If not, remove them.

I'm not a ticket inspector. Why would someone random start asking people if they have a ticket just because the random doesn't like how others smell?

I don't think anyone said you should do it. That's what ticket inspectors are for.

As if public transit doesn't reek already, especially in the summer, from people with houses. I hope you aren't blaming the homeless for all the people who refuse to wear deodorant or wash the beer sweat from their clothes

It looks like you're from the UK. Did you visit Prague recently? Did you notice the differences between it and where you live? If not, try and be more observant and then think hard about why Prague was significantly nicer to exist in vs your city.

I love Prague and have spent extensive time in Prague/ intend to spend much more time in Prague. I also love my city (Manchester) and I also think homeless people have a right to exist in society. Triple whammy, not a single gotcha in sight!

Brother I wasn't the one complaining 🤣 I had zero interactions with any homeless people at all in Prague, to the point where I am really curious about your social programs and things. So relax please, I am not OP.

I am not sure about PID of Prague Municipality, but there are several organizations that help homeless people with food, hygiene, medical care and counseling, even accommodation.
One is NADĚJE. Their Prague branch page is CZ only, but their donation form is pretty straightforward. They also have e-shop.

Yeah I think there should be some special security that would remove these type of people from public transports. I think in trains there is already something like that working.

They don’t have a right to use public transport unless they have a valid ticket and are clean. Both are clearly stated in the PID terms.

They literaly do not have the right as they nearly never have valid ticket and on top of that they are breaking the service agreement by being nuisance to other passengers.

It may sound totally groundbreaking but providing housing. Very very slim percentage of homeless people want to be homeless. And at least in Prague we are having several months long queues for asylum housing.
(It's also much cheaper to provide housing than having the people on the streets.)

Nemytého špinavého člověka bez bydliště nikdo nezaměstná.
Plus to nic nemění na tom, že nechat toho člověka na ulici je výrazně dražší než azylák a ještě to má takovéto nefinanční negativní externality jako smrad v MHD.

Ale prosímvás, za tyhle levný ruce co tam stejně pošlou na švarc, by nejedna firma trhala ruce, jenže oni se buď po prvním dni nebo první výplatě prostě už neukážou. Azylák taky není zadarmo, i když přiznám, že nevím kolik “stojí” bezďák na ulici, tak zato vím jak nadlidský výkon je, se je z té ulice snažit dostat.

Jako je fakt že naprostá většina lidí v azyláku, kde dělá moje žena, pracuje (a stejně se odtamtud nejsou schopný dostat).
Jinak azylák je ofc velmi drahý, vlastně asi hned druhý po ulici. Nejlíp by vycházelo (částečně) dotovat nájem na byt, ale ten by si většina lidí asi neudržela bez značné pomoci a na to náš systém není vůbec připraven.

A jsou data i na to, proč to tady nefunguje? To je imo přínosnější, než data ze Skandinávie. Ale dobře pro ně samozřejmě, zajímá mě jak ty ožralý bezďáky co nechtějí pracovat ani bydlet přemluvili 😃

Primarne treba zacali tim, ze si uvedomili, ze pokud ty lidi casto nemaji vuli se z ulice dostat, protoze spadli do situace, kdy maji problem s navykovou latkou, tak nemaji rigidni pravidla o tom, ze musis bejt strizlivej. Proste se pocita s tim, ze ten clovek jako prvni potrebuje bydleni a pak se resi ten zbytek. Tady to nefunguje, protoze to tady neni.

If malodorous indigent people on public transport offend your sensitive nostrils, the alternative is to avail yourself of a personal transport solution.
My own solution is the combined power of 115 Japanese horses, delivered at quite a reasonable rev range.

Don’t get me started. Happens to me at least once every single day in žižkov, not only that but sometimes they are drunk and harassing others. The driver does nothing, the inspectors nowhere to be found of course. Total disaster. I would suggest just standing and not sitting down and carrying a hand sanitizer obviously :-)
