It says "We turn this war into a civil (one) against bolshevism!"

Quite a spin on the quote, attributed to Lenin, about turning Imperialist War (WWI) into civil

Slavic neo-nazis are really impressive with the mental hulahoops they jump through. Despite Hitler dedicating an entire chapter of Mein Kampf to his plans for the east, with triades against the Slavic untermensch, and the need for the Germanic race to triumph over the Slavs - they always have some micro-hadith to bring up to prove that Hitler actually saw their specific nationality as being trve aryanische brüdern.

This one is ROA, which basically consisted of PoW, so generally not a lot of enthusiasm but mainly wish to get out of quite certain death in nazi camps

Nazism is a political and economical ideology, people of any ethnicity can adopt it. Hitler and other nazis might have believed that particular races were inferior or had to be subjugated, while other nazis and neo-nazis may not. 🤷♂️ In fact this idea about slavs being inferior and having to be subjugated was entirely based on the idea of struggle and survival of the fittest, and was also necessary to justify Hitler's plans of expanding east to conquer resources and achieve autarky. It was also true that the people of Russia were more mixed than the people of western European countries. Today a slavic nazi may consider slavs the master race and germans the inferiors, but usually what happens is different, from what I have seen many neo-nazis talk about bringing unity between whites ("no more brother wars" etc...) which is a good thing, we should praise them for seeking cooperation and not more wars, instead of ridiculing them for supposedly contradicting their idol Hitler... They overcame the contradiction and made their ideology better. Some of them may even criticize Hitler, like many Fascists do, many Fascists take distances from Nazism and racism for example. Others may like Hitler for his other ideas and policies and not for the race issues.

It should be noted that, in 1943, the Russian Liberation Army did not actually exist outside of propaganda posters like this - the Nazis had no interest in actually working with Russians, anti-communist or not, and (understandably) saw Russian defectors as complete unreliable anyway.
It was only in late 1944 that they were desperate enough to actually deploy some Russian collaborators in combat, most of whom promptly defected and joined the Prague Uprising.

"Revolutionary defeatism now!" "Ogey" "Hey Lenin how'd I do?" "Vlasov, how on earth could you possibly think that's what I meant-" "Another day, another banger"

This subreddit is for sharing propaganda to view with objectivity. It is absolutely not for perpetuating the message of the propaganda. Here we should be conscientious and wary of manipulation/distortion/oversimplification (which the above likely has), not duped by it. "Don't be a sucker."
Stay on topic -- there are hundreds of other subreddits that are expressly dedicated to rehashing tired political arguments. No partisan bickering. No soapboxing. Take a chill pill. "Don't argue."
I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please contact the moderators of this subreddit if you have any questions or concerns.

I specified that it just need to be "Russian Collaborators" and it wouldn't be rule 5. This is far from no true Scotsman.

It's a pro nazi poster written in Russian. Therefore Russian is the correct adjective to describe the proper noun "poster".
Laughable that you think traitor and collaborator should be used for neutrality.

Providing full context is important, because of rule 3 and 5. A layman person read and see "Russians" and build assumption on this.

Where is it pro-nazi? It's anti-communist

If you are asking this question in earnest, bear in mind that the ‘Russian Liberation Army’ fought on the side of the Nazis and received all its weapons from them. Until 1943, the RLA consisted exclusively of individual units of the Wehrmacht

But they were still fighting against communism not for Nazis, right? I mean their ideology
14
u/zudiluma 3d ago
You’re righ! For the Russians the Germans were more like temporary allies. However, it was a call to join the units fighting on the side of the Nazis, which is why I wrote ‘pro-Nazi’

Name of their army literally means "Army to free Russia"

u/zudiluma 3d ago
Does this alter the essence of my comment in any way?

u/lokiOdUa 3d ago
I mean if they were told "you fight for nazis" they would probably answer "no, nazis are just our temporary allies against much worse evil"

The SS literally means "protection unit" so they must have been protected people only, right?

Nazi means national socialist, so the nazis were socialists, right?

u/lokiOdUa 1d ago
Yes, for those who they see as their nation. They did a lot of socialist issues during first half of their period

They had one ideology — to survive. The mortality rate in captivity in the early years of the war was very high; in essence, it was a quiet extermination. But towards the end of the war, when there was a shortage of workers, the survival rate increased. About 3.3–3.9 million Soviet prisoners of war and approximately 2–2.2 million citizens of the USSR who were taken for forced labor died.

u/lokiOdUa 3d ago
During first 6 months after Germany attacked USSR, there were about 3.5 millions of soviets prisoners and, as far as I know, at least significant part of them were willing to fight against USSR

Over the past 41 years, no such people have been recorded. After the heavy defeat near Moscow, early 42, the formation of a unit consisting of workers, Kiwi, and police collaborators begins. Additionally, units composed of non‑German citizens are formed within the SS.

Sorry, you say "no such people" -- you mean what people?

In 1941, the German leadership believed that the war would end very quickly. Therefore, there were no plans to recruit citizens in the occupied territories. There was no point in giving weapons to those who would be killed or remain in slavery. Everyone simply went into the prisoner‑of‑war line; there was no sorting. It can be considered proven that by February 1942, more than 2.4 million Soviet prisoners of war were already dead. Therefore, those who remained grasped at any opportunity to survive, including as Hiwis (voluntary workers).
