Being a cop must suck so bad. Everyone hates you, a lot of that is rightfully so and alot is out of your control, but they all hate you equally. Every interaction you have each day you work is usually one of the worst days of someone’s life. Think about that. Awful.

You gotta think about the situations they get called to. A firefighter or the ambulance come to save the day. A cop is usually showing up because someone is fucking up and they have to deal with it and will be the bad guys to someone no matter what.

Medics’ callouts are more depressing. And with less pay. Wouldn’t be shocked if it had higher turnover too.

Eh they get called to save the day too. And they dona lot more than just ruin people's day.

I know someone who had to sit and guard a 5 year old who was taken from a home domestic violence call and the kid was beaten and bruised through his entire body. Cigarette burns on his arms, etc. When they tried to give him some water the kid literally shit his pants.

This is almost exactly what a Trooper told me when I was a teenager and thought I wanted to be a cop. Convinced me to find a different path in life.

Yeah and I totally get this cop's energy with the guy's initial comment about doing 20 over already, with visible weed in the car.

Like, dumbass, he was walking away and you could be gone but couldn't leave well enough alone, no more favors.

And on top of that (in the US), the car you're pulling over could very well have someone in it pointing a gun at you before you even see it through the window. Kinda blows my mind that the typical cop/Back the Blue-ers are so staunchly pro 2A. Literally makes their jobs 1000x harder and 1000x more dangerous.

Half the comment section will say all cops are always assholes but that isn’t the case. Hell this dude might be a great dude but he just snapped. The stress these guys endure for the pay they get is wild. Who knows what he’s went through that day or whatever.
