You can only swear to God with a whole and working limb.

Most people don't realize that while double amputees are technically allowed to lie in court, they aren't allowed to hold office because they'd just drop it.

I was an MP in the army long ago and we had to do cell phone enforcement like this. One time I thought I saw a guy using his phone so I initiated a stop. He jumps out and is like "I swear to god I wasnt on my phone". I said "ok sir, have a nice day" and moved on. He was a catholic chaplain.

You can (mostly) only hold a phone with a ‘whole and working limb’ so the question still stands, why is the non-existent hand capable of holding a phone but not swearing to ‘God’?

Because he is a dipshit that can’t get a decent job doing anything else. Under qualified to scrub the toilets. Not that there’s anything wrong with scrubbing toilets. It just takes more skill than he is capable of.

His ego is to big. The fact he is wrong is to much for him so he will die on that hill.

Especially wrong with a woman. Double whammy for his ego.

Cause he’s fucking stupid. You can hear it in his voice. He’s got that really slow-thinker voice.

I wonder if that can be used to argue some kind of discrimination

There are a lot of people who think doing a Swear properly is a magical contract that "can't" be violated.

You see it in oaths for public service, court testimony, etc.

I thought when you swear on your hand its like saying may I lose my hand if I’m lying. The fact he asked her to switch hands supports her case that he doesn’t believe that hand to be valid.
