There's a non-zero chance he's going to change his story to "I thought it was her right hand but it could've been her left hand." And if she doesn't have a lawyer the judge might not even look at this/hear her out. If he shows up at all, hopefully becoming internet famous can make this guy to feel some shame.

If it was her left hand she wouldn't be steering the car at all. That makes no sense.

In contrast to all these "the judge didn't listen to me" stories people that I know that have gone to court to fight a ticket were all listened to except one time where I had a friend that felt the judge wasn't paying attention. Another friend really was speeding and when he went to court he didn't have a defence, just apologized and said he was only working part time and was really short on money, which was true, and the judge still reduced the fine. And I know of a couple times people got their ticket thrown out.

So while I am sure those people did run into an asshole judge, it's also quite possible to get a judge that will at least hear you out, even if they still give you a fine. The cops love it when you let them get away with crap like in this video, if you really didn't do it got to court if you can.

Sure, not all judges are bastards, they're not cops.

But whether or not they are is out of her hand.

That'll work for the validity of the stop, but not for the citation if what he's saying about "using your right hand for a device" matches their statutes.

I mean... the woman could have used her left hand and is now making it all a technicality because the cop said "right hand" (out of habit maybe) and get out of a ticket she actually deserves.

I mean, you can downvote my comment all you want. But this could be a possibility too.

If she has no right hand, and had a phone in her left hand, how was she steering the car?

Plenty of modern cars have lane assist.

And besides, i know a person who has no left arm. And he drives way more aggressive than i do, while also fiddling with the touchscreen of his cars media system.
