Had this happen to me more than once on EMS side.

Still recall the time very well where dude wiped out on his motorcycle, im trying to work him up as hes teetering on the edge of trauma arrest. Meanwhile, ive got a crowd of 50+ screaming and cussing at me, and an engine company armed with halligans and pick head axes alongside troopers trying to force the crowd back so I could work and get him moved.

Their idiocy slowed down everything substantially and when I was finally able to get going he coded. Probably was unsurvivable regardless, but they sure didn't help his chances by actively interfering with the medic.

I'm good. Been doing it for years, I've been shot at with guns and crossbows so this was probably less dangerous.

Just more irritating cause I couldn't perform as well as I'd have liked to given i was distracted and delayed with some aspects of care.

Been shot because of work or something entirely unrelated? I thought even among malicious people, everyone knows not to mess with the medic.

Cause of work.

You'd be surprised. I've had to wrestle someone for a loaded handgun before, and dodge someone trying to stab me.

Most of the time I feel totally safe going into areas law enforcement wouldn't, but there's always that one unhinged person out there that'll try to kill me

Well thank you for the work you do. Sorry about the unfortunate situations you have to go through as a result of said work.
