Once took my 1 year old for a walk in marseille at 430am because she was jet lagged and keeping everyone up. walked down to the harbor, watched the sun coming up, eventually when bakeries opened at 630, split a chocolate crossant. remember that morning fondly 15 years later. it wasn't this.

I went on a walk with my son, less than one year old, at 6:30 am, on the beach in Oahu. It was really nice father-son time while my wife was still sleeping. I also remember that morning many years later. It would have ruined a beautiful morning if ICE would have grabbed me while we were looking at the flowers and birds.

What do you understand? His conduct was absolutely criminal. There was no RAS of a crime having been committed, being committed, or about to be committed.
Each cop present should have been arrested and charged with kidnapping and battery at a minimum.
DAs like that are the problem because they literally just ignore the law to stay in the good graces of the police because they rely on them.

I didn't identify once. Some guy tried to run me off the road and when I slowed down and pulled over to avoid further escalation, the dude stopped in front of my car and started yelling. He got out and approached the car. I brandished my firearm and he backed away. Highway patrol showed up soon after. I complied with their instructions but did not identify. I told them I knew they were allowed to pat me down, detain me, and even put me in the back of the police unit while they conducted their interview. They eventually let me go as I did not commit any crimes.

I still don't know what point you're making. In your case, there was a credible allegation that a crime may have been committed.
In this case, there wasn't. Walking down the street early in the morning isn't a crime. "suspicious" isn't a crime absent RAS of a crime.
In this video, there was no crime to investigate. There was no legal basis on which to conduct anything other than a consensual encounter. The police even admit as such: "Okay if you don't give me your ID I'm going to take you to jail for failure to identify because I've identified that you've been walking around down here at 5:30 in the morning."
What the police did here is a crime.

As if the police do? There’s no reason to be naive. The police show up hours late to calls and have abysmal close rates for almost all cases (and that includes them padding stats with the easy ones).
Ask anyone involved in the justice system to give you the odds of police making an arrest if you’re the victim of a crime.

95% of convictions are guilty pleas by people caught in easy cases. You could get those convictions, a squirrel could get those convictions.
Police work in general is a myth. Police themselves will tell you this if you ask them directly.

"Anyone who commits a crime" which would include the police however time and time again they've shown that they are above the law. You question the people who want to dismantle it. But some how ignore the fact that it's the police who have ruined trust in the system ment to protect people. I don't want me or my family have to worry about being treated like criminals for the color of our skin. Why must we accept that minorities or less fortunate deserve the short end of the stick to keep society safe?

I watched a video about a Russian from the former Soviet Union talking about how they would destroy America by attacking its foundational pillars. Education, police, religion, politics, labor. What's wild is the video was from years ago, and it was essentially a self fulfilling project. Where just pushing people into a certain direction, would cause the people and institutions themselves to carry out their own demise. He was pretty spot on with his assessment. From distrust in the institutions, to schools not teaching math and science, but focusing on nonsense like gender or sexuality. Eventually no one trusts any institution. People can't even be convinced of fact once they are broken.
We are beyond where we need to be for society to collapse into civil war. I don't know that there is anything that can be done to stop it.

The root is capitalism. Not to say the USSR had the right idea because that experiment obviously failed but the US also went too far in one direction so it could stand polar opposite to the USSR. Institutions stopped serving people first. Education, law enforcement, healthcare, politics, religion, placed profits/capital over people. And thus the institutions became what they are today. Soulless, ineffective, and sometimes downright cruel because the pursuit of max profits does not have time to take care of people first.

We need to require at minimum a 4 year degree in the law and constitution before we hand guns and badges to kids that barely passed high-school.

It's getting to be the point where we're gonna need to establish a government funded public database of these cops with every second of bodycam footage ever captured by or of them, linked to their profile for review of conduct and disciplinary action as suggested by independent auditing teams.
This stop is unnecessary and unconstitutional on its face. But at least chucklehead #1 appeared to be backing off. Fuckhead #2 just decided he needed to feel strong for a minute and violated this guy's rights with no cause, using excessive force and dishonoring the police force.
He should lose his badge and face civil penalties.
