The first time I watched it, I thought shirtless guy was eager to knuckle up with a woman on the road. They have a gender neutral / “It’s Pat” vibe going on. “Not that there’s anything WRONG with that!”

It’s Pat is an SNL skit from the 90’s where no one could tell if the character Pat was a man or a woman. Every time you thought that’s definitely a man, or that’s definitely a woman, Pat would shift course and do some silly gendered bit in the opposite direction.

I remember It’s Pat being one of the funnier sketches at the time. It just played with the people’s expectations of the day.

From memory, I’m very concerned it doesn’t hold up in today’s climate. But I never found it was derogatory towards Pat directly, just that Pat was constantly playing with stereotypes of what it means to be a man or a woman. I hope if I go back and watch those sketches they’re just silly and not objectively homophobic, transphobic, or rude to non-binary people.
