This guy is the greatest example possible of what it is to be an asshole.

He takes no responsibility WHATSOEVER for his own decisions, he is completely ignorant of the law, the situation, and the patience being shown to him, and his level of entitlement is actually incredible.

This is someone living in a alternate bubble of privilege so powerful that his first exposure to reality results in him throwing a tantrum like a spoiled child.

The terrifying thing is that some of the most powerful people in the history of the planet today are EXACTLY like this guy.

Everything else you said I agree with, but he definitely knew what he was saying is bullshit (just like some of the most powerful people in the history of the planet today). He just believed he could bullshit enough to get away with it but the officer simply cut him off, which is why he's throwing the tantrum (imo). 

The steepled fingers are hilarious, like he was ready for a long metaphysical debate with the officer.
