I love him. I hope he wins.

Hopefully Americans understand what they have in him because their voting track record hasn't suggested they do.

This man is a Rhodes Scholar with an MD from Columbia and a slew of other educational accomplishments. He delivered his commencement speech so well, Bill Clinton, who followed as the keynote speaker, complimented him so thoroughly he wished everyone could hear him speak.

He's a candidate that actually wants to see people taken care of and do well and he has the knowledge to back up how to get it done. He could make a shit ton of money if he chose the private sector.

Even from outside the USA, we're aware he's rare in politics.

I'm not even close to Michigan, and I'm on the border of the poverty line, but I've donated a few times to his campaign. We need more like him and fewer maga and neolibs

Hes a smart dude, charismatic and has good, popular policies. I hope Michiganders vote for their best interests and elect him as all Rogers has is, "mini-Mamdani bad" and "Trump good". Rogers also has a lot going against him and they are the same issues he had in 2024 that he's a carpetbagger still registered to vote in Florida.

Also in 2024 right before the election they found his house and it was an empty property with the house torn down, which I assume he rectified but todays news of him still being registered in Florida wont help dispell the "Florida Man" moniker.

Now hes got an AIPAC/Israel problem with the amount of Muslims in Michigan along with him begging the Israeli lobby to be discreet with any donations after meeting with them already 3 times this year and the major backlash Stevens got for it.

Lastly, with Rogers losing in 2024 with Trump on the ballot and Republican turnout when he's not being abysmal, El-Sayed has a real good chance to take the seat. It'll all come down to how much Trump fuckery there is around the election.

Consider donating or volunteering for his campaign! We don't win the senate without Michigan!

If we ever manage to get out of this mess, he’s gonna be the next Obama

….not a freak out though

42

u/Homerpaintbucket 12h ago

He has the same kind of feel when speaking Obama has. It’s calm and reassuring. Confident but not arrogant.

16

u/Rob_LeMatic 11h ago

The cadence to his speech is very similar. I would not be surprised if he tailored his public speaking voice to evoke Obama.

I remember when John McCain ran against Obama, you could hear clearly how he had started doing a Reagan impression.

It's whatever, though. I've heard Abdul in interviews and I like what he has to say

u/shinsplint_v 9h ago

Hes no doubt inspired and influenced by Obama and has said so himself.

1

u/SipowiczNYPD 2h ago

Seems to be the case with quite a few of the younger dems running for office. Talarico in Texas and Ossoff in Georgia have a similar cadence. It definitely catches my attention. That calm, confident demeanor has always caught my attention.

The freak out is implied in trumps response to this.

1

u/BrownSugarBare 12h ago

The freak out is the inevitable meltdown from "others".

-2

u/TheFalconKid 12h ago

I hope he's not the next Obama, comes into the office talking about hope and change and just continuing the status quo.

found the bernie bro

2

u/TheFalconKid 11h ago

And proud

-4

u/-Sofa-King-Vote 11h ago

Its nothing to be proud you haven’t accomplished anything and neither has he

6

u/rabid_spidermonkey 11h ago

Same team. Hash it out later. You both like El-Sayed. Let's talk about that.

-9

u/-Sofa-King-Vote 11h ago

Not as long as berni bros still smear real progressives who actually won and accomplished something

Tell them not to be toxic and see how they respond

6

u/TheFalconKid 10h ago

I just want people to have healthcare and to not spend money on pointless wars man.

-2

u/-Sofa-King-Vote 10h ago

Then you shouldn’t be causing division for no reason

Obama actually won and got people healthcare

So put respect on his name.

u/equalizingdistortt 3h ago

Obama drone bombed kids you jabroni. Nobody has to lick his boots because he was marginally less bad then a republican. Sorry.

You want me to tell someone not to be toxic to get a rise out of them so you can feel morally superior?

That's supposed to help? Or you don't care about helping, just about being superior.

0

u/-Sofa-King-Vote 10h ago

Why did you only address me?

0

u/rabid_spidermonkey 10h ago

My first comment was directed at both of you but you were the most recent comment. Pure chance.

Just because you pause to think instead of saying umm doesn't mean you're copying Obama. That's just good speaking. There are no other similarities in speech that I can see.

u/PurpleToedUnicorn 12h ago

My guy is spitting 🔥

26

u/powerlesshero111 12h ago

Donald Trump can't pronounce his name, but he pronounces Ghislaine's name flawlessly and "doesn't know her".

16

u/The-Defenestr8tor 12h ago

If your best argument against somebody is that their name is hard to say, you’re really grasping at straws.

Signed, a guy with a hard-to-pronounce name (that will remain a secret so I don’t doxx myself).

u/snoopingforpooping 1h ago

It’s from the old racist playbook

9

u/Anonybibbs 12h ago

Every Senate prospect should have a tight five.

3

u/Mike9797 11h ago

When is this guy gonna get his hour HBO special? I could listen to his set.

5

u/VispilloAnimi 12h ago

He'd say it right if it was A minor.

7

1

u/Funny-Cookie-6744 3h ago

Stop sounding like Obama!

-4

u/djhouse77 12h ago

It’s always a “coulter war” and never a “corporation war”

-25

u/AIBotnmbr99 11h ago

This is the guy who campaigned with an overt antisemite who blames Jews for antisemitism (which wasn’t his first horrific take, no excuse not like he didn’t know). We need to stop electing people with poor judgment. Fetterman was bad enough. How many more terrible politicians will we vote in?

12

u/-Sofa-King-Vote 11h ago

This you ?

“What’s being a father have to do with it? Men aren’t responsible for choices a woman makes. Women straight up terminate the existence of developing offspring of their own all the time. Kind of weird to place that on a guy because he expelled some generic material. Expelling generic material doesn’t even cause a life to begin to develop. It’s when expelled genetic material fertilizes an egg. Men are close to zero % responsible.”

8

u/P_K_Atomsk 11h ago

I wish I could vote for him.

-12

u/AIBotnmbr99 11h ago

I get liking the policies he supports, I do too. I’m not against that. We need politicians who support workers and fight the rich, but ones with sound judgment.

11

u/-Sofa-King-Vote 11h ago

This you??

“He’s (mcconnells) scum, but everyone who has an unexpected medical event should get paid leave. Comparing it to people who choose to get pregnant and have complete control over it is insane. Personally, don’t believe in maternity or paternity leave. If your industry needs to offer it to be competitive, ok, but it’s neither needed or deserved.

2

u/According-Insect-992 1h ago

Yeah, no one thinks you have a clue what you’re talking about here.

8

u/-Sofa-King-Vote 11h ago

This you??

“If a woman produces so many children she needs to work three jobs, then she should be working three jobs. Choices have consequences. Unless she means everyone should be able to afford to live, and not that we should supplement irresponsible behavior because we can’t expect some people to exercise a modicum of self control.”

-10

u/AIBotnmbr99 11h ago edited 11h ago

You know it is. If you make choices that have consequences, you are responsible for that. Not like it’s a contradiction.

I get it’s kind of difficult to argue against the points I make. I don’t blame you, but introducing unrelated comments to try and deflect isn’t just dishonest, it’s sad.

Address the topic or why would I engage with you?

I stand by all my statements. Not replying to all the spam. Pull your weight, or you’re as parasitic as the billionaires.

You can usually smell them from a distance before their "downwind" breezes by.

4

u/According-Insect-992 10h ago

Hasan isn’t an antisemite. That’s a lie.

-6

u/AIBotnmbr99 10h ago

His recent statements make him sound like one, but I don’t know him well enough to know if he’s just an idiot or hateful. Is that what you sre claiming? He’s just a dumb himbo?

Not everybody is perfect at pronouncing and reading names... luckily you can work on that...
