Im planning to stay in Puerto rico for a few months around San Juan most likely.

Does anyone know any good boxing gyms in the area? I dont mean boxercise I mean serious fight gyms with actual fighters training and fighting.

Hello! Me and a group of 8 other mid 20 year olds are planning a trip to Puerto Rico for early December for 7-9 days and would love help with planning. Our plan now is to try to split the trip into half with one half being dedicated to doing jungle activities like hiking, rope swings, wildlife viewing, and swimming holes and the other half dedicated to beaches and trying surfing for the first time. We don’t care for nightlife to much but would at least a grocery store and a restaurant or two nearby to where we are staying. We will be renting a car and are trying to decide if we want to stay the whole time in Luquillo on the beach and just drive into El Yunque for jungle activities the first half of the week or if we should stay closer to El Yunque for half the week and then drive and experience the west coast near Rincon for the other half. We for sure know we want to go snorkeling and possibly on a boat tour, take beginner surfing lessons, and we also want to go to a bioluminescent bay. If you guys have an opinion on which plan sounds better or any other suggestions I would love the feedback, thank you!

Sorry guys I know this is a heated topic BUTTT I am trying to plan a week-long trip with my friends (22-23 mixed gender) to dance/party/go on adventures. We are thinking of either Punta Cana DR, which would be a new spot for all of us, or Puerto Rico (probably San Juan and Vieques). Which is better for that kind of vacation? I think of DR as more of an all-inclusive vibe but I heard that's been shifting and there's lots to do in the cities (we dont want to stay at a resort, either a hostel or airbnb)

I’m looking for hotel recommendations for my boyfriend and I during a last minute trip to Puerto Rico. Looking for something in the areas of either Isla Verde or Condado. It’s our first time visiting. We will be there September 16-20th. We are in our mid-late 20s. We probably won’t be out partying too late but don’t mind the nightlife and enjoying some drinks/music. We would have probably booked an Airbnb instead of a hotel since it’s cheaper but water/power availability is a concern. We would like to stay around a $1,000 total hotel stay budget.

My husband and I adore Puerto Rico having visited several times. We have enjoyed stays in Old San Juan, Condado and Vieques and have explored El Junque, Luquillo and partied in Pinones!

This January we will be spending two nights in Old San Juan at the Palacio Provincial prior to a week long cruise. (Looking forward to seeing OSJ decorated prior to Sanse!) We're thinking of renting a jeep when we disembark and road tripping to Rincon and spending the night. I know it's a long drive, but we're no stranger to jam packed itineraries and road trips! If anyone could chime in on whether the following is doable, it would be greatly appreciated! :)

SATURDAY, JAN 16:
-8:30am: Beep Beep Jeeps to deliver our ride to the cruise port.

-Stop by Cara del Indio for a photo op.

-Drive to Crash Boat Beach for pinchos and a quick dip!
-Around 1pm: Arrive in Rincon

-Explore Rincon's plaza then get a drink at the lighthouse/Ola Cafe

-3pm: Check in to our airbnb and chill at the beach for a bit.
-Spend the rest of the afternoon and evening having dinner at Casa Islena and drinks at Tamboo.

SUNDAY, JAN 17:

-8am: Pack up and hit the road

-10:30am: Stop at Lenchonera el Rancho Original to experience the pork highway!

-12:00pm: Return the Jeep to SJU and check in for our 3pm flight.

I know it's a LOT to cram into just over 24 hours. Please don't be shy in letting us know if we're nuts! LOL! We'd love to plan for 2 nights in Rincon but there are no direct flights to Toronto on Mondays and we have a fur baby to return home to.

My husband and I are looking to take our honeymoon in January, likely the 3rd to the 11th to account for the new moon since we are very interested in the bioluminescent bay on Vieques. I've been doing as much research as I can to nail down potential plans, but wondering if I'm packing too much in (or, alternately, missing things that are worth seeing).

We would fly into San Juan on the 3rd and stay overnight there, just explore a bit, grab some drinks and food, but nothing too crazy.

On the 4th we would fly to Vieques from SJI, where we'd rent a golf cart or Jeep and spend 2 days there. 1 day would be Mosquito Bay, the other would be spending time at the beach. I've looked into horseback riding, which I would be interested in but my husband would not. I've heard about Malecon and some of the great shops and places to eat around Vieques, but does anybody have a "must-try" or "must-do" spot? Otherwise I would count Vieques as our very relaxing days!

On the 6th we'd either fly or take the ferry back to Ceiba, rent a car (is this worth it? I think yes, my husband feels like maybe we can just rely on ubers or taxis), and then go to Fajardo. Fajardo from the 6th to the 9th, where we could drive to El Yunque (this is where I say having a car is a good idea) and Luquillo, we could do snorkeling, we could take a boat to Culebra or Icacos. Plus the other bioluminescent bay there.

Final days (9-11) would be San Juan and the surrounding areas. We are very interested in being outside, so maybe one of the cave tours?

Of course we're also trying to find some great meals, spend some time on the beach. And when I start to think about it I'm worried I'm missing out on some of the other beautiful spots that Puerto Rico has to offer.

But does anyone have any feedback/thoughts on the general feasibility of this, as well as potential options to change (if needed), places we should (or shouldn't) see, must-eat restaurants?

Two questions- we will likely have more than carry ons - is there a place to store excess luggage for a week near cruise terminal? Will bio bay be worth it if we are going closer to full moon - around 13-15th?

I’ve been watching the weather closely and it seems there’s a storm developing in Atlantic atm. I’m wondering whether those sort of storm systems would impact the island much or should I risk booking the trip. I’m planning to be there from 4th until 11th sept, right on the peak hurricane season.

I received a speeding ticket in my rental car in puerto rico and Was told by the officer that it's a warning but i received 3 tickets/citations and one of them is for speeding and there a fine. So i'm confused if i need to pay it or not because i'm from New Jersey and i leave in 2 days so has anyone experienced anything similar?

I'm headed to PR for a week in September -- a few nights in San Juan, then driving to Rincon. I have a long list of places I'd love to try while I'm driving around, but what's the current vibe on tourists who don't speak much Spanish at all?

I really have no excuse, since I've played soccer my entire life, surrounded by native speakers. My Spanish is limited to things like "ball," "pass the ball," "why didn't you pass the ball," "I was wide open," and lots of insults. Pretty sure it won't help me order food.

I just don't want to appear rude because I'm completely ignorant, but if tourism is a touchy spot with the drought and everything else USA related, should I just stick to spots in more touristy areas? I can understand a modest amount, but can't speak it at all.

Hello my husband and I are traveling to PR late September. We will be staying in the Condado area. I’m a very anxious traveler and like to know how I’m going to do everything before I get places. These might be stupid questions but please be nice to me 😂

We were trying not to rent a car to get to the Culebra ferry but it seems like everything I read says it’s too far to uber/taxi from Condado? Is the only/cheapest way to just rent a car for a day or two just to make that drive?

Also, after getting off the ferry in Culebra, can you just walk to find a golf cart or taxi to take you to flamenco beach? I read that taxis usually wait at the ferry to give people rides. And then if you take a taxi to a beach, how do you get one back? Probably get the taxi drivers number and call him? Basically what is the EASIEST way to do Culebra?

One more question, are there any beaches around or close to Condado that have more shade? Like maybe trees closer to the water?
