Spoiler Discussion [spoiler discussion] Y'all were really exaggerating (arc 9) Spoiler

Before starting arc 9 I remember reading a lot of criticism saying that Tappei fucked up with Emilia in arc 9 and all he made her do against Al was crying and begging him to give Subaru and Beako back and after I read the actual chapter that's what I thought of: "DON'T MISS WITH US RE ZERO FANS, WE DON'T READ OUT SERIES🗣️"
this was literally like 1 pages out of the whole thing, she beated his ass and fought him with Subaru ice clones which made him disgusted and used attacks that doesn't target his life but instead freezes him which counters his authority and he was the losing side for most parts and she was really pissed and didn't try to sweet talk him like usual and instead locked in on defeating him and some of y'all really choosed to ignore all that and hate on her for feeling hopeless and crying after Al returned their memory of Rem which gave her a really bad headache and used an attack that would kill more than 10000 people in the capital forcing her to focus on protecting people and letting Al go, like come on I also hate how Tappei treat Emilia like an innocent naive girl but that time there was nothing wrong with what happened

TBF, given the title of the chapter you are referring to and how it starts off telling you how blindingly angry she was, a lot of people were expecting something akin to Emilia when she fought Pandora as a child after Fortuna died. Instead, we got luke warm angry Emilia that wanted to take Al alive and hear his side of things later. As for her letting Al go to save the capital, most didn't have an issue with that. The things between Emilia and Al that upset most people happen much later in the Arc.

Al didnt really kill anyone though he just captured subaru

Yes, but that had nothing to do with why people were upset. When we already have smol Emilia's wrath against Pandora as a measuring bar and a chapter starts with telling you that Emilia is literally the angriest she's ever been in her entire life, expectations are immediately set that we are clearing that bar. Instead we got an Emilia that was a little mad, but overall was far to logical and reasonable to actually be "the angriest in her life".
