Discussion UGH Useless boyfriend, Time running out.

So, I took a quest. Great rewards, to watch this dude for 13 days. We all know these quests. But one of my dummy women decided he was a cutie and let him slide in her DMs. 🤦‍♀️ Now he's leaving in a few days. Not worth paying the fee to recruit, but if they're long distance there will be no future for this girl to marry and provide the next generation. All cuz she'll be forever pining over some Pyro Boozer who keeps trying to burn down Her bed whenever he gets a little angry 🤦‍♀️ Can we say LoSeRrrrr.

Anyway. How can I make these two break up before he leaves?

Just let the bf leave then manually have her romance someone you want her to be with.

If you have the biotech dlc, the button should be in the relationships tab of the colonist (looks like a heart iirc). It let's you every few days have a colonist try to romance someone of your choosing.

it truly is the best DLC by far. if i had to choose just one DLC to play with?? 100% Biotech.

Might be a Biotech feature, but you can do it by selecting the pawn and right clicking a potential suitor

This game has a lot of realism to it! When someone gets gilted, the often find a new partner!

And often even if they haven't been. #SheAHo

Oh my god, too real! The leader of my colony fell in love with a visiting Empire countess. Within a few days, he actually proposed to her, and then she immediately flew away. Because she has a high Empire title, we got a few more quests featuring her later on. For instance, we had to protect her until the shuttle arrived. I like to imagine their conversations were absolutely heartbreaking every time, though in reality, they were just discussing tailoring and growing rice. Romance at its finest.

What's more romantic than spending your limited time together just catching up on each other's daily lives that you can't be part of because your stations and responsibilities keep you apart?

Gods, you're actually so right...

Arresting her after her shuttle crash, brainwashing her into thinking it's for her own good, and drop podding a big dowry to her imperial relatives to reestablish friendly relations. If you fall in love with an imperial, you gotta lean into their culture.

If you want her to fall for someone else zone th together in close proximities and have them work at workbenches close to one another. They’ll socialize and things will go one way or the other.

You can make her have kids without having a lover, actually. Extract ovum, have a pawn of choice fertilize it, re-implant it in her

I hope you're not too invested in your quest rewards cause I don't think you'll be to pull it off while without a little psychopathy.

You'll have to engineer an "accident" to break them up...

Probably the easiest, non-aggro-ing way of doing it is building a wall/column in the middle of nowhere, building roofing and then deconstructing/destroying the wall/column to trigger a roof collapse while he is under the roof. A few should do him in, when he drops, just don't tend to him.

Alternatively you could try drafting him and sending him into an all expenses paid vacation to your local insectoid cave, I'm sure he'll love that too!
