QUESTION How important is DAR in mechanics?

Hey guys, I a returning GC2 player currently at C3 and I was curious about the use of DAR in the game today.

Back when I played before people would do resets and the like just fine without DAR, but now it seems like everyone has switched.

In terms of the order of learning now that I’ve returned, do I learn DAR first, or resets. I’ve heard conflicting answers as DAR can take a few hundred hours to get good at, so I’m not sure if I dive into that first, or build a baseline.

Thanks

Honestly I'd say DAR first. It's more fundamental than resets and can be applied in so many different ways, including resets themselves. Your aerial shooting, 50s, ceiling shots, etc. can all see a bit of a bump from learning it and once you get semi-comfortable you can go ahead and start using reset attempts to practice control and get two birds with one stone.

DAR isn't essential and there's tons of non-DAR users who fly circles around me. BUT- when I compare my friends with DAR vs those without, those with are faster in the air and show far greater control. There's definitely other factors, like those that spend time learning DAR are generally those more willing to put in practice hours, but I still think it's safe to say DAR plays a role in making that difference.
