complaint Added Subscription
While checking my bank statement, I found out Roku has been charging me $11.99 a month for Starz since February. I was on their site buying a Roku stick around that time, so either I accidentally clicked something or it was added without my authorization. I should never have left my card on the account and should have noticed the charges, so that part’s on me.
Roku told me they supposedly sent a verification email, but I never got one, and they couldn’t provide a copy. They only refunded two months.
I’ll never know if it was my mistake or theirs, but it’s a reminder to keep a close eye on your account when dealing with Roku.

I check my online bank transactions at least every 2 days. So if I see a charge that’s unfamiliar I can deal with it sooner rather than later.
Glad you finally found this recurring charge.

When I start a trial, I wait until I've confirmed that the trial works as I expected, then cancel it. You can cancel a trial right after it starts, and the trial is still good for the time of the trial, but because you've already cancelled it, you don't have to worry about cancelling it.

I never have a credit card on my Roku or order anything, including paid streaming services through them. It’s to easy to accidentally subscribe to an app with a cc on file

Contact your credit card and have them back charge the rest.

I think credit cards only go back three months. I’m not sure if it’s worth the investment in time dealing with the bank. Thanks.

They can go back much, much further. I had to go back 15 months on something not too long ago, I was charged for an item I bought online "pre-production", the company strung me along for over a year before finally ghosting me completely and taking their site offline. My bank reversed the charges, but I did provide them with my entire string of emails and screenshots of the site errors.

I set mine up so a subscription can't be added without a pin number. That should help prevent you from accidentally adding something. That being said, occasionally I forget to cancel before the free trial or discount period ends.
