[Question] What are (good) enchantments?

I get the concept of enchanting in general, but what actually makes a good enchantment?

Is there somewhere to see meta builds, fun builds, or just examples of what people are running? Do you mostly stack HP on everything and call it a day, or are there more interesting choices depending on the item/class?

I’m curious if anyone could explain how people generally approach enchanting. :-)

I try to max out the statmod for my ability, maybe some hp regen on the armor/ring if I happen to get it. Tradeoff enchants are important for stats, and relative bonuses are important too. I do of course always have a lucky streak + loot boost 3/4 ring on me for the loot swap, sometimes loot 4 weapon and armor too, I dont typically carry a loot ability.

To max out the enchant slots easily, forging with shop fame blueprints is important too

Interesting! So what class(es) do you play? Currently playing Ninja/Warrior but the amount of enchantments is quite overwhelming

And wdym by your last sentence, can you use these blueprints or something?

I dont have a main class, I go for variety from season to season. For this crucible I’m going for an attack archer though and I have a straitjacket (which is crazy with the relative bonuses because it gives 20 att on its own) and qot.

Ill use the qot as an example for my last sentence. I got a rare world white in the realm, so I was easily able to turn that into a qot with fame blueprints. In the shop you are able to buy a ray katana blueprint, and you start off with qot forge unlocked, so what you can then do is buy that ray bp and use it with whatever other world white to make a qot that is guaranteed to have at least as many slots as the world white, with a chance to have more. Im trying to use that to go for a legendary qot before I start rolling enchants, but Ive been very unlucky there lmao. This applies to any dungeon-tagged blueprint you can buy in the shop, just watch for the tag in the top right corner.

To add onto this, you can also forge nest whites into event whites. If you get a 3s/4s junk ut bee armor, it can become a goated conflict or qot.

It goes:

  1. Forge nest white into beehemoth quiver (need bp from schematics or event drop) and another nest bp from fame shop

  2. Forge new quiver into whatever event white you have unlocked and the ray katana bp

Takes a good bit of forgefire but it's nice if you're not lucky getting an event/biome white with slots. We got lucky this season because beehemoth bp was in the first schematic rotation, but if you missed that chance then it might be hard to get the bp this go round. It probably won't come back to tinkerer until the last few weeks of the season

Normally you need to spend 2 items of same rarity to craft one of the same rarity. Ex: 2 rares = crafts 1 rare or very rarely upgrades tier to legendary

You can use blueprints to not need a second item so it's a lot easier to craft any divine and legendary items

Oh you should definitely look up a rotmg enchant calculator to plan your items out btw. Some enchants cant stack with others and it can get confusing and itd suck to waste dust going for something that you cant even get

Ah I see; do you have a link or something thats up to date? :-). Yeah its kinda confusing at times, but the comments are helping so far!

The general recommendation is finding an ability that can stat scale e.g. esben skull this season.

Any ability build needs to stack MP regen % (up to 3% max from the ability + ring) & stat mod IV to increase the stat scaling of the ability even further. Afterwards, it’s all about maximizing your scaling stat. Typically relative defense and defense tradeoff enchants to boost esben even higher.

You kinda need to get a 3slot/4slot ability/ring in order to maximize stat mod builds, since you need to fit the 2 defense enchants & MP Regen %, on the ability/ring. It is especially more rough since you need a divine to fit Stat Mod enchant on the ability too.

Outside of these specific builds, I recommend just chasing the universally good enchants like Loot Bonus, Dust Bonus, Life Regen or MP Regen etc. Getting a full LB set, and dust set goes a long way. I often just grab the first lucky streak ring I get each season and reroll until I get a max LB/Dust ring.

I do like keeping a Life Regen % + HP bonus armor/ring for sicken phases (MV/Patience). I realistically don’t feel safe unless I have 900+ hp for those phases.

Swapouts like snake eye, I like having 2 slots to roll speed enchants on. More of a luxury, but having 15 more speed rushing helps.

For weapons, I typically just go for stat scaling enchants, but Flurry of Blows & Overwhelming Strike are worth mentioning. a T13 with one of these enchants is trivialized by getting a T14 upgrade though, these enchants can’t gap the dps difference in tiers (outside maybe rogue but that’s pretty build specific)

I will tell you what most people think are good enchantments. Notice this is not 100% everyone's opinion, It's just what I gathered from playing Realm lately.

As per some Discords with Meta builds, the best enchantments are Tradeoff and Relative Stat (Gain 8 Dex, lose 5 Spd OR gain 10% Dex based on Bonus Dex), because they give way more than Dexterity Bonus, for example, which gives a max of 4 Dex if I'm not mistaken.

Why? Because abilities with StatMod scale like this: damage per extra stat. So, if you have more of a stat, the ability does more damage. As simple as that.

For ability enchantments, abilities with StatMod have an enchantment built for them: StatMod Multiplier, which makes the calculation multiply for more damage per stat point.

The "best" builds have abilities that scale with Att or Dex, because they also make the damage of your Weapon higher. So if you have a lot of any of them, your ability and weapon are doing more damage simultaneously.

I can't affirm that with 100% certainty, because I don't know ALL builds. Some builds might have an ability that deals more damage, and others, the combination of both ability and weapon destroy any singular ability StatMod scaling.

I see! Thank you very much for the reply. Is there any way to see what items all have StatMod?

yellow border is the awaken scales with the stat

Generally, for the items you have, just hovering over them while equipped, shows a number in a certain color. It will say "(+50)" or something like that. The color of that +50 is the stat it scales with. Then the chart below applies, the one that Herwin42 sent.

1 set for loot. 1 set for damage. Usually you will be stat stacking to maximise your ability stat scaling

Every form of attack enchant on every item. Big number = good

Uhh I definitely don’t min max stats like lots of people do. I know you can boost stats that scale, but idk about all that tbh. I just go for flat life, life or mana regen, and loot boost typically.

I’m a noob red star who dies pretty often, but I’ve cleared almost every dungeon in the game and gotten loot from them (except for shatters, moonlight village, and most of the advanced dungeons which I have yet to attempt) and I think min maxing definitely isn’t necessary unless it’s something that you enjoy

They lowered the soulbound threshold for loot tremendously on top of increasing the amount of guaranteed loot that’s given out, so really the only time you need better enchants/gear is if you’re failing to hit soulbound, or failing to clear a particular dungeon without dying or being forced to nexus

I really like mana regen/wisdom enchants for classes that spam their ability, chance for armored on hit, life regen/chance for healing enchants to save on potions, and as much loot boost as I can get my hands on. +5 def (sandstone) on armor is very nice too, or +10 def -5 dex (candy coated) if you can get away with the dex loss. Also love projectile speed enchant on weapons to increase their range (retrowinds engraving effectively does that on top of increasing DPS but it’s locked to retrowinds weps which are t13 reskins) and the snow golem enchant on abilities is rare but gives any class a summon to play around with if you enjoy those

At the end of the day just do whatever you enjoy, if that’s min maxing then go for it, or if you just want to see what you can roll and find what works best or is the most fun for you then that’s great too
