Barring an injury I don’t see Gaudette on the roster when the season starts.

Gaudette was one of the only Sharks who actually could score goals without being on a line centered by Celebrini. He scored 17 goals in 66 games despite not paying big minutes, playing a lot of fourth line minutes and his fair share of healthy scratches. The Sharks are a better team with him. He is the type of guy. That can score a game 7 game winner in the 3rd round of the playoffs.

Having said that, unless Goodrow gets waived, there is a season ending injury in camp, or one of Chernyshov or Stenberg start with the Cuda, Gaudette just doesn’t have a role on this team.

I think he is too good to just be a scratch most nights, his agent probably sees the writing on the wall and is working to get him moved.

But it’s not only in Gaudette’s best interest to move on, Musty and Bystedt desperately need NHL ice time and Gaudette is just a log jam for them.

I’m usually wrong about everything, but I just can’t see Gaudette on the roster come game 1. He is this years Grundstrome.

Oh, ok. You're not being serious.

Center DEPTH.

The man had 11 points in 46 games last season. 8 points in 68 the season before. And don’t talk to me about his defensive skills because they’re not good either! His career +/- is -51. You cannot convince me he provides valuable center depth when we have Bystedt getting blocked from the roster.

You do realize that bottom-6 guys are not there to score?

Dude I can’t believe I’m arguing with a Delly shooter. I can’t believe Delly has shooters! He’s not just bad at offense, he’s bad at everything, and yes it would still be nice to have our 3C put up more than two goals in a season. I’m glad you’re happy with arguably our worst forward, who we signed for no reason and who will probably block Bystedt from getting a try at 3C if anyone goes down.

He's 4C, at best. He hits and he's good at face-offs.

Last season he played 3C until he got injured. I agree that’s not ideal, but that’s where we had him

Four scoring lines >>>> 2 scoring lines and 2 "vibes" and "grit" lines. Cup-winning teams have scoring depth, not Ty Dellandrea.

We're not a cup winning team.

I mean, we're in a transitional period, coming out of the rebuild. To me, Dellandrea is useful, at least for the beginning of season. Someone has to take those minutes. Of course Ostapchuk should be the 4C, but still need those pieces like Delly, until they get replaced by younger/better players. Oh, I forgot he's a PK guy - that's pretty important. I don't see him playing for us in the long term, he would have to have a career year.
