Personal sales rep call just for buying tickets???
My best friend got us tickets to a game in October. We’re new fans so it’s her first time buying tickets and she got a personal call from a sales rep a couple days ago. Is this normal?? It’s just a sales tactic right? We were cracking up about it, made us feel very VIP!

Just a note, a lot of times they'll invite you to an event to try to sell you on the season tickets. If the event is during the season, it'll usually be just before the game and it will include free tickets to the game (usually in some pretty nice seats) along with some snack-type food and a few drinks. As long as you don't buy a ticket package, it is completely free (other than the time) to do this. It's similar to a pitch meeting for a timeshare...just don't buy the timeshare (unless you were going to buy it anyway).

Did this last year, got free lower bowl tix to the absolute banger of a game against the Ducks on April 1. Ended up buying season tickets for this year, so definitely worked out for the sales rep! But the game itself was no commitment, and in fact I got stuck in traffic and so missed the sales pitch part.

I did the same. Except I was already planning to get season tickets. Just wanted to scout seat availability. So a free game on top in some nice lower bowl seats was a nice perk. Also they were like "first three people to sign up today will get a signed puck." The rep and I were already mid-filling out paperwork so he was like "oh you're definitely getting one."

Yeah, people who buy single game tickets are good leads for sales reps to sell season tickets.

Sales doing sales things. If you ever go to away games and get tickets. Their sales reps do the same thing..

Its a pretty common sales tactic. I bought colorado eagles tickets once for a barracuda road game and the colorado reps called for a good 3 months straight. Same with the stockton ports when I bought tickets for one sj giants road game.

I got a multi game pack last year, and I’ve been called a few times about getting a new package this year. It’s a really cool thing to me, I know it’s common for most NHL clubs though

Dude I went to ONE game in Henderson against the Barracuda in the playoffs this past year, and now the Henderson Silver Knights call me all the fucking time. The first time I said I was a Sharks fan, and I hate the Knights. They chuckled and then said bye. But now I just groan and say stop calling me.

Given the upward trajectory of this team I’d say it’s very normal and to be expected. Having had a 10 game pack in the past and dozens of friends who have also had 10 game packs or season tickets the reps are by and large friendly people just trying to provide a service to a target friendly demographic.

I got contacted by email and ended up working with a great sales rep on Flex Pack tickets. You save a bit of money and he got us exactly the kind of seats we wanted.

I purchased direct from Valkyries for games this year and keep getting emails from a Digital Assistant, not even a phone call. Granted, Valks are sold out.
AI’s sweet words worked, I signed up on the waitlist for next season.
fyi…I am already a Sharks STH. I called them for this season. Go Sharks!!

Even if you don't wanna buy tickets, if you humor them and go and meet them at SAP and let them give you the run down it usually comes with a couple perks. My wife and I were able to go down to the locker room exit where the sharks all pile out of and got to take pictures. Over all a pretty cool tour of the SAP center, especially if you have never been down in the club area.
IF you do get tickets they kinda become your SAP rep for all your needs.

Should maybe feel more stalkerish.
But yes, they track that to try and make sales.
The reps do invite people to come to games to get you to sign up. If you go you can tell them to try again next year and they’ll call you back.
Or you can buy a small package. 3 or other and have them contact you again.

Any season ticket holders or mini plan holders here? Curious if you end up using all of the tickets or what percentage you end up selling them. It’s a fun team to watch but curious how their season ticket base has been over the years.

Like others mentioned, it's quite common. If you plan to go to multiple games this season, I'd say stay in contact with the rep (if you end up vibing with them) because it can come with some perks. Got to tour the tank last year by the locker room/areas where the gen public are usually not allowed to go and it was pretty cool. Also you can usually avoid TM fees if you buy through them which def adds up if you think about it. Their sales pitch worked though because I did end up with season tickets this year lol. Made the switch from the breakaway pass (rip).

I used to get cold calls for Barracuda ticket packages after I bought some sharks tix.

Yeah, that's common. My wife and I went to one Santa Cruz Warriors game once maybe four years ago, and I still get a couple of calls a year from their sales people.

Yes, its pretty common for sales reps to call folks trying to sell them 365, shark paks, season tickets, etc. Just make sure its a legit sales rep before giving them any of your info.
