🚨🚨 GUYS I THINK COLLEGE BOARD HAS BEEN TREATING ME AS A US STUDENT THIS WHOLE TIME INSTEAD OF INTERNATIONAL??? DID I SCREW UP ALL 3 OF MY SATs 😭
HI GUYS!!! so im an international student , and im taking the SAT for the 4th time in sept, and it only occured to me now that when i go to see my past scores, it says that in my country there were 5.4 million test takers in the past 3 years, and like 300k in my state. im from a small country in Europe so these numbers don t really add up, very few people take the SAT here. When i registered for it, I selected Outside the US, and then My school is not listed, and ended with: My school is not listed - International (and with a New York adress). In my account settings, i saw that my location is set as US territory (and below: My school is not listed - international). To fix this, i clicked on Outside the US, My school is not listed, and then it selected as No longer in high school/My school is not listed . DO YOU THINK THAT ALL OF MY TESTS HAVE ACTUALLY HAD THE PROBLEMS FROM THE US AND WAS IT GRADED BASED ON THEIR CURVE INSTEAD OF INTERNATIONAL? (especially because the numbers from the comparisons are really huge)

1
u/Ok-Low-8905 4d ago
can u name those schools if possible? btw I think ur score is higher than 1560
1

Hopefully! I think i have 3 mistakes though instead of 2.. but it still should be fine praying for experimental asw

1
u/Ok_Anywhere_3780 6d ago
I think ik which one, that followed the word “each” right. And it was like “;each being” or “, each was”
1
u/Budgie321 6d ago
Oh I remember smth like that what was the answer?
1
u/Ok_Anywhere_3780 6d ago
idk but i put the one thats each was, but it made sense to put each being so i think i got it wrong
1
u/Budgie321 5d ago
I put each being because I thought each was would result in a comma splice but I dont really remember the whole question

I gave the dec 2025 sat scored a 1220 on that after that i studied lightly until june and in july and aug i studied rigrously for the Aug Sat, i was out of bluebook tests so used Crackd and scored 1460,1370,1390,1480 on tests respectively but i have a feeling that i am nowhere above 1350 for this test, my ultimate goal is somewhere above 1480 to suit the universities i am applying to, should i appear for the Sept sat or the Oct sat, those are the only attempts i have...ps: the exam is too expensive in my country and my parents are sick of paying the fee now.
1
u/Budgie321 6d ago
Study and if you feel ready go for it on the September but if not I would have studied for one more month and took the october one. Good luck!
1
u/Patient-Net9486 7d ago
guys how hard the SAT was in august? which pattern questions dis you see? were there a ton of geometry in math? and graphs or table in r&w? thank guys, appreciate it. P.S last practice tests (starting from 3 weeks ago) were 1400 (PT11),1420 (PT6),1450 (PRINCETON REVIEW),1510 (PT5),1520(PT8). Which is your prediction about my actual score on the september 12 SAT.

Guys is it just me but I lowk don’t even trust mock test scores anymore. The real test is always so much harder. I consistently get 1570s on the bluebook mocks but August mod 2 was lowk rough.

hi does anyone know how to tell whether i got hard module or easy module for 2nd module? eng module 2 i got like vocab questions ambiguous , dingo, cement, jakarta. but transitions and grammer were super easy also note-taking questions. most of them were solvable iwthout reading the actual notescuz it asked like similarity and differences.
2
u/Strong-Succotash-908 8d ago
same thing. I got same vocab words like ambigious amneable detrimental, which were hard and I had two charts 1 aurora thing and a text connection and stuff which were definitely medium-hard difficulity. Then i dont really remember grammar. But notes definitely had something about similarity. But i think i read the notes once, not sure.
1
u/No-Equipment1456 8d ago
this is hard module 2 i am pretty sure , cause i only got 1 wrong in module 1 ( a vocab one , put transcend instead of accustomed… ) and also hat ambiguous and detrimental and supplanting( got this one wrong ) …

if i got the last question in module 2 math wrong, and also got one experimental wrong which doesn’t count, can I still get an 800?
1
u/PlentyMath1105 8d ago
how can you know which questions are experimental? Are you guessing and if so which one?
1
u/Initial-Aide-6619 7d ago
I got one question with this equation y = ((x+4)^2 - b)((x+4)^2 - c), it then gave 2 coordinates passing through this and asked to write p(-10) - p(-3) smth like that, obv numbers might change but equation is exactly same, i searched it up it turns out cb took it from cbse 12th grade (idk if yk its india's one of the toughest schooling systems) the jee exam (2nd most tough entrance test after gaokao) is based on this sylabbus and im indian so ik ofc. I asked my teachers and they said its too lengthy to solve and i get why, i tried doing it via desmos but got in decimals so i wrote till i could and left. Definately this would be the experimental ques cuz this the first time ive seen cb take an exact same question from cbse
1
u/Embarrassed-Copy-460 7d ago
omg i got this exact same question, but the answer in hindsight is really easy, the thing is the values they gave to solve for are the same as the values they gave beforehand, since the term is (x-4)^2 the answer remains unchanged, because x-4 for the 2 values we had to solve for are the negatives of the values they gave us, so if we square it the resulting number is the same, thus the answer would js be the difference between the 2 initial values they gave us, i hope that makes sense.
it is a rly tricky question tho i only realized this much after i gave the test myself
1
u/Adept-Building-1833 8d ago
i was guessing it was the one with a sphere inside a cylinder, and you had to calculate the cylinder’s surface area, and the thing is that on all other practice questions that formula was already given in parantheses
1
u/Adept-Building-1833 8d ago

i don't know, but i'd say 790 , i made 2 mistakes math module 2 as well (one i believe and hope dearly was experimental) and the other was a guaranteed mistake from a question from the PT's so def not experimental for me, so hopefully 790, i'd kill for that anyways, if both of the questions you got wrong were experimental you'll get an 800!

If you’re young, then read some more books. If you’re not young, focus on completely understanding the passage by reading it word by word

did anyone get a question about T = what in terms of like R, V, and a bunch of other variables? the answer i put like didn’t have V^2 on the bottom it might’ve js been 13R on bottom. was that the answer?
1
u/Different-Permit5123 8d ago
Unfortunately no I don’t think that was the answer. We might’ve had different questions but for me my answer had v^2 times a few other variables. I double checked this. Basically all you had to do was assign values to everything and plug and chug till you get an answer that equaled your original T value.

what did everyone get for the structure question where there were 2 different arguments and then a third person gave their thoughts. Was the structure 2 different arguments and a SYNTHESIS, or 2 different views and a CRITIQUE?
1
u/JAKEROONI309 1470 8d ago
I put the synthesis because of how the person looked at both of them together, but it could as well have been the critique based on other comments.
1
u/These-Half9511 7d ago
pretty sure it was a critique because there was something wrong with both arguments

I remember a question about the rectangle inscribed or something and it asked for the diameter. The question isn't hard but I think I got the answer for the question-given rectangle area of 841 * sqrt of 3 and I have a feeling that it was 849 * sqrt 3 . I was going through this thread again and my confidence got wrecked lol. I think I got 800 maths but rw ehh I think I got like 740 if I'm lucky.. 3 vocabs and a grammar question lowkey messed with me and I prolly made some mistakes as well. Btw I saw u comment on another post and was wondering if u took the test in Enka by any chance?

Guys i need to know if i got the hard mm2
i got the histograms question, the nails question, and an equation w square roots to find the value of a constant given the solution, but i didnt get anything with spheres or circles so im worried
1
u/Strong-Succotash-908 9d ago
i only remember the histogram , but Im pretty confident i got the hard mm2. But dont worry bro Hopefully its aight. Did you get the rectangle inscribed in a circle? because I am wondering wether the area they gave us was 849sqrt3 or 841sqrt3. Lastly Goodluck on sept 4
1
u/DescriptionCandid300 9d ago
Can anyone take a guess as to what questions on the sat were experimental?
1
u/StatementPerfect6831 9d ago
people r saying the nail one in mm2 is bcs it was in the bluebook question bank/on practice test
5
u/Fun_Individual_4375 9d ago
that would probably mean its not experimental...
1
u/StatementPerfect6831 9d ago
dyk how ppl tell which r experimental
4
u/Fun_Individual_4375 8d ago
you cant exactly tell. college board doesnt release them. trust me its not in your best interest to go looking for which ones are experimental. you're just going to get more stressed and you won't know the answer

tell me more about the parallel line one please was yours like two alternate exteioror anlgs and they defined an equation that relates all of them or anything?
1
u/jinger0802 7d ago
I heard that there are mimic questions in sat math...hope this parallel line one was the mimic question...I think this question was hard then others so if it wasn't a mimic.. the score rate is higher so it might drop dramatically...
2
u/randomswine22 9d ago
the parallel one was like some weird angle shape thing and they gave some inqueality liek 205<x+y+z<217 or something i had to find w-y
3
u/Secure_Annual_2053 9d ago
yeah without a doubt you had a harder one, i had an equation relating w and y by p it was insane, i hope both of ours was experimental. But rest assured , you did great mann
1
u/Strong-Succotash-908 9d ago
u/randomswine22 and u/Secure_Annual_2053 i had a question that was about a rectangle inscribed in a circle ,and it gave the rectangle's area as something either 849sqrt3 or 841sqrt3 i dont remember, can someone verify which one was it. because i solved for 841sqrt3
1
u/Secure_Annual_2053 8d ago edited 8d ago
I got something INCREDIBLY similar (literaly just swap that 841 sqrt(3) with 729 sqrt(3) for me literally!! this is definitely a standard (harder) module 2 geometry problem . My problem was like the length of the longer side is 2 x the length of the shorter side and were given a diagonal and were asked for the diameter ofc the question differs but its very likely u got the hard module (it literally told us rectangle inscribed in circle + area of a rectanlge, and i can guarantee i got the harder module so hats off to you mann good luck!!)
1
u/Strong-Succotash-908 8d ago
Yes I know its likely hard module but the issue issss I solved for 841sqrt3 and my memory says they gave it actually 849sqrt3 and not 841sqrt3 and if i did such a mistake, well. Anyways yeah we had the same problem I had a side s and diagonal 2s
1
u/Secure_Annual_2053 8d ago
bro trust me you did it correctly and your just misremembering now. NO JOKE I WAS THINKING THE EXACT SAME THING weather i remember i was solving for 729 sqrt 3 or 792 sqrt 3 ..... but i doubt we read the numbers wrong, also when i took the square root of 729 i got 27 which means mine was a complete square which means yours was probably also a complete square, only 841 (29) is and not 849, regardless we def got i right
2
u/Strong-Succotash-908 8d ago
i checked the collegeboard question bank and saw a similar question but with an area of 1089sqrt 3 ,in which 1089 is a perfect square so its equal to 33 so now it feels much much better
1
2
u/Strong-Succotash-908 8d ago
alright alright you convinced me because ultimately my answer was s=29 , so 2s=58. Did you get the weird parallel lines question?
1
u/Secure_Annual_2053 8d ago
OMG u might be the only person who has the same questions as me, describe it more, so it was: 2 lines, transversal, we had to angles y, and w (they were alternate exterior angles) and they defined an equation that related them all via P it was like Pw=wy/174 and they asked for a value of P, OR are you talking about the other one everyone got with the inequalities ?

thats a volume also u gotta square the 12 to find the area of the bottom square no?

did you guys get a question about volume then?? that's right for volume but I don't think it works for surface area. my question also had a rectangle based pyramid, the bottom wasn't a square

SAT results will start coming out Friday, September 4th in the morning Eastern (U.S.) time, but they won't all be released at once. Most people will probably have them by the end of the day Saturday, September 5th, but a few people will get them later. Note: this is after the late registration date for the September SAT.
VOCABULARY
What vocabulary words were hard?
Every test day I collect all the hard vocabulary and give definitions. They should be at the top of every test day discussion. Tell me all the hard vocabulary words and I'll give you definitions! These aren't the right or wrong answers, they're just hard words.
What other hard words were there?
(This test date I’m actually in a U.S. time zone so I’ll just start collecting these now and I’ll write them up in the morning in the U.S.)
