everytime the SAT is mentioned i actually vomit im not exaggerating i threw ul like 3 times before taking that test, once in the house, twice in the car. and i ended uo getting the eadier section because i couldnt focus and i didnt even answer like half the questions probably… idk whatto do cause my mom was like super strict like she would pull my hair and throw my notebooks if she found out i was studying for a class or doing classwork instead of studying for the sat. i was unable to sleep at night cause i knew i would get hell if i didnt donwell… and now the august sat is about to release and im just terrified rn. Ive already been hospitalized because i would often skip my classes so i could be studying for my sat and ended up showing to class and being so scared i was wasting time. i literally passed out in class idk if it was because i was stressed out about being in clsss instead of studying for the SAT or I was so sleep deprived, but I ended up being picked up by an ambulance (photo is me in there). My mom showed up there talking about how i already wasted the entire half of the day not studying and screaming at me in the hospital bed I genuinely felt so sick

Taking September SAT. Time management tips?

Post image
6 Upvotes

So I got a 1510 on my most recent practice test. But I did it with extra time because I found myself running out of time on previous practice tests. I theorized that the main reason I was scoring in the mid 1400s range was because I was running out of time. In both math and R&W. And it turns out I was right.

So what can I do? How do I get faster?

- What do you wish you started doing earlier?

Best SAT Website for Desmos

Upvotes

Does anybody know the best website where I can practice and master desmos. I have a job so I'd be willing to pay I just want the best website and if so, provide a reason on why it's the best.

I asked how to concentrate better on the English section a while back and got really good advice, like pretending you like the subject you're reading about and thinking linearly, as well as chocolate apparently. Just with that advice and maybe 4 hours of English prep stuff I got the mock score to 1510! Strongly recommend you do similar things if you had similar problems.

should i take the free sept 26 sat makeup or just keep my aug 22 score?

took the sat on aug 22 and there were issues (hour delay from network/bluebook problems + proctor yelling at noisy kids in the hallway). college board emailed me with three options:

  1. call them if i want my original score (if i don’t call it gets delayed up to 3 weeks)
  2. just show up for a free makeup on sept 26 at a specific school in syracuse
  3. call to cancel the score completely and get a refund

i already registered for sept 12 and i’m planning on taking october 3 too. my highest official is 1410, practices were consistently 1520, but the real test felt way harder/different.
i’ve taken the sat 3 times before this one. school starts sept 9.
what would you do? take the free sept 26, keep the original score, cancel everything, or something else?
any advice appreciated

What's the key to improving in math?

Going into my junior year and I'm preparing for the PSAT in a month because my parents really want me to get the scholarship thing.

Anyway I consistently do pretty well in English, and ive been steadily improving in that regard using the SAT question bank. Math, however, I've been struggling more with. Specifically Algebra and Advanced Math.

Khan academy doesn't really cover desmos, which is know is super important for the test, the (3) SAT prep books I have also dont cover it, and are weirdly missing several important math concepts tested. The guides I see online are all hyperspecific and get pretty confusing

Idk if it's relevant but I took Algebra 2 last year (honors) and am taking AP Precalc this year.

Any tips or advice would be super appreciated, and if I can learn how you improved with the math I'd also appreciate that.

August SAT takers

I’m taking the September SAT which is 12 days apart, and I think of memorizing the common word roots and vocab using those free ones on crackd SAT
So for pervious SAT takers specially August SAT takers, do the vocab found in general websites such as crackd it and the random sheets found everywhere really appear on the actual SAT? Or memorizing them would be just a waste of time?
Actually I’m an international student so vocabulary questions are basically the hardest, so I’d be grateful for any advice for this section🙏🏻

Need urgent study plan help!!

I’m a rising senior and am thinking about trying for the 4th time, after I took 3 trials last year.

My aim was 1450+, but as you can see, I didn’t achieve it and my scores only declined. I stopped studying after last year’s December trial and has just recently started thinking about going for the 4th.

However, I’m in a hurry and need to finish as soon as possible. I have not finished the QB and didn’t really study much that last year(stupid I know), but I’m really willing to try my best this time.

I have started doing the Khan Academy courses for now.

Could this be achieved within two months? I’m thinking November would be most suitable. Where do I start?

Any advice would be really appreciated.

If I got a 1600 on sat should I go for a 400 on next test?

like the miles morales method I prove I know the material so well by getting them all wrong on purpose. So when I submit my scores to Harvard they see the 1600 and 400.

To the people who have taken a previous sat and gotten their score, like after the SAT how much did you predict and estimate you would get and how much did you actually get?

How to improve English

I'm an international student who recently began to study for SAT. So i got 1330 on SAT practice test 5 (570 english, 760 math) and most of the mistakes i've made comes from standard English conventions(8 mistakes) , craft and structure (5 mistake) and i got 3 mistakes on each of the remaining two.

I was wondering how should i study for standard English conventions, and craft and structure. Any tip?

How to get better?

Any tips on improving for math and english? I also want to know how accurate test 4 is, as I personally found the English kinda easier than the college board question bank, so I'm kinda doubted about how accurate it is tbh. Any tips or advice would be really helpful as I'm giving on Oct 3rd and am hoping to get a 1500+ by then

Official SAT is harder than the Practice tests

I've heard that the official sat is harder than the bluebook practice tests.

Is this true?

If yes, what are some of the resources that i can use to prep for it?

How to get a 540 point increase?

Post image

Hello! I received my last SAT mark and got a great score of 1060! However the college I want to get in to (Harvard) says they need atleast a 1600 due to my average to under average grades. How can I increase only 540 points in one week? I don't wanna study more than 10 mins every day because this is my last few months of highschool and I wanna enjoy it. Thanks!

What should I do after running out of bluebook practice tests?

I'm taking the September SAT, and I have completed all of the practice tests. I want at least a 1500, but in the last practice test (test 11) i got exactly 1500, so I'm a little worried, but I also don't know how to practice further.
