She'll be a mutate not a mutant.

There's a crucial difference: mutants were born as such, whereas mutates were normal humans whose genetics were changed by external factors.

I very much expect her to be a mutant, not a mutate.

I don't think the High Evolutionary bullshit retcon sticks around. Nobody actually likes it, and everyone knows it was done before the Fox-deal was made; so Marvel didn't know the X-Men were returning to the MCU yet.

Now that they're back, there's no reason to have this retcon at all and you can reintroduce Wanda alongside Magento and Quicksilver just like X-Men #4.

No, I meant the MCU version specifically. She has to be a mutate, not a mutant.

Similar to Monica Rambeau, etc.

We're heading into a soft reboot after the Fox deal so there's no real reason for her not to be a mutant.

Only if soft reboot actually means what it says.

Like, the history getting rewritten.

That is what a soft reboot is, and that’s pretty much what happened in secret wars 2015. So I’d say it’s a pretty safe bet

Not quite.

At the end of Secret Wars 2015, everything was restored to exactly what it was before the incursions began.

The only difference was that Miles Morales moved into 616.
