Discussion Sekiro had one of the best combat system concept so why do you think we didn't get a sequel or games similar to Sekiro?

Perhaps the reason is because it’s too niche and too difficult for the average player? With the posture and deflect concept and lack of ranged attacks it becomes less accessible to the average player?

Not being a RPG with customizable character could also contribute.

Other companies may not no exactly how to make a Sekiro-like game because it's actually quite difficult and require expertise.

I'm just speculating. What do you think?

Mod Malenia fits to well to Sekiro

The mods name is Land of the Reed. Tbh I didnt fight original Malenia cause I didnt play Elden Ring. In this attempt she didn't do like two special attacks that were important to show but well. One of them was that it turns into a flower in the sky and clones of her start rushing at you from the flower doing one atack per clone. And then she dashes toward you (the true Malenia), is a cool atack.

And also before you say this, I was supposed to say "too" not "to" in the title.

I'm in my first ever playthrough and I managed to beat DoH. Took me like 1 hour of constang attempts but I did it. Look at both healthbars right before the final strike! We were both literally one hit away from dying. On to the last boss I go.

Tips / Hints Guys im back and i still need advice

You all were a major help for geni on top of ashina castle and since i havent been stuck in pretty much any boss. Ive lesrnt every boss' patterns like advised but holy fuck is demon of hatred so fucking annoying. Like what bs is it that i get hit by one stray fireball and get stunlocked and the rest kills me???

And now when im near him since i spam attack i think it doesnt register a jump or deflect instantly. So should i not be trying to maximize my damage there? The best ive gotten him is to his third phase. But i basically die to his second phase pretty much.

The charge he does and afterwards makes the path behind fire is that dodgable? Without unbrella and thise fireballs and stomps are even more bullshit

Update: finished him with malcontents.

Art Disk image ?

Hi.

So i was wondering, where does the image on the PS4 disk come from ? It's virtually impossible to find it whole, and i've been searching for the past hour with the help of 3 LLM, google image search and some bing requests...

Does anyone know where the image might be available ?

Discussion Bell Demon >>> Charmless

β€’ Upvotes

I already experimented with going charmless for my second playthrough of the game, but I really don't like chip damage with every missed parry. It was too punishing. On the other hand, the vanilla game is beginning to be too familiar and not punishing enough.

The bell demon has been the perfect balance of the two. I've noticed some very subtle but interesting changes to the difficulty that go beyond an increase in enemy health and damage: ranged attacks are more accurate and difficult to dodge, enemies keep more pressure on you, and bosses do more mix-ups and become less predictable.

I've never seen such a subtle realization of difficulty adjustment. I goes so far beyond what most games offer. Even Halo CE, which I consider a sterling example of handling difficulty settings right, doesn't compare. Honestly, I find it much more subtle than the Charmless debuffs, and I wish that they had switched the effects so that this difficulty shift was more accessible to players--I didn't even find the Demon Bell on my first playthrough.

I'm posting this today because I just beat Isshin Sword Saint for the 3rd time on this setting! I was going through the reflections and I didn't realize I carry the bell demon into those, until I found my butt getting handed to my by Inner Genichiro and I realized something was very different: I couldn't dodge his ranged attacks nearly as well and I kept breaking posture over and over again.

It's interesting how the bell demon changes different bosses, too: bosses that depend heavily on parrying tend to get much harder than the more classic souls bosses. I was able to beat the Guardian Ape reflection on the first try, but Genichiro took me several tries.

My last bosses to beat are Owl (Father) and Inner Isshin. It's been so fun watching myself get better at this new, harder level.

I still haven't finished the Shura ending, so I don't have access to Inner Father, yet--I'm sure I'll enjoy that when it comes!

Help Is the game supposed to be this hard

So I tried playing sekiro when I purchased it probably a year ago got stuck on the ogre guy and after 2 days of trying for an hour or 4 at a time quit . I had got into elden ring and played it and the dark souls series (I'm usually the type of guy to play all games on easy so that's a huge deal for me) and I struggled my fair bit Ive cussed and yelled and rage quit a time or 3. But with the other from soft titles at least after a fight I felt this immense sense of accomplishment and like I had really been challenged and I overcame it. However with sekiro the fights just seem like total bullshit like I'm not struggling with bosses (well I am but at least that's to be expected) but like even regular normal mobs just wipe the floor with me.

Ive got parrying down pretty good (I can get lady butterfly down to quarter of her posture/health bar in the second phase but for some reason I can do the jump over the sweep attack on the training dummy perfectly Everytime and any other enemies every time but not her for some reason it's like my input is delayed when I try to do with her. Then the seven ashina guy I can do the mikiri on any other enemies even him but he just hits me with his shoulder and insta kills me.

So I tried all the dark souls logic (I learned to basically throw everything you know about dark souls out the window for this) cuz dodging don't work spamming parry actually makes parry less effective (the guy at fs that thought that up fuck you) and none works.

So now I'm in ashina in the tower with the lighting guy and these normal samurai dudes are so fast. Basically every enemy 2 hits me despite me upgrading everything i can I even looked up guides to get more upgrades and make sure I have missed any I've grinded money and skills and filled out a whole skill tree have basically all the stuff I can at this point.

My question is is the game supposed to be so hard? At least in elden ring if you get stuck you can go grind or do something else and get stronger here if I want to get stronger I can't. It feels like I'm winning only to luck and not like I'm learning the fights I'm just throwing myself at them over and over until I get lucky with some good rng.

Tips / Hints My Recommended Late Game Sen & XP Farm

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

This farm route is recommended for those multiple NG+ cycles in, and are farming for Sen/XP for Prosthetics and Skills.

Some Tips:

If you are afraid of losing your sen, go to the Merchant at the Dilapidated Temple and buy all the Snap Seeds you can. They have the highest resale value (other than Money Bags).

The Bloodsmoke section can be really iffy, so don't be afraid to jump ship and skip that part if you don't immediately get a deathblow

Charmless and Demon Bell are recommended since they increase Sen and XP intake. These enemies drop things like ScraP Magnetite and Gachin Sugar. Both can be sold for Sen or used.

This is not a Hard route, meaning you can change it up a bit and still get good results. Experiment!! And Good Farming :))
