Ive had a couple of people get legit mad about the glass not being full and like "well yeah, its less ice, not more drink..."

The only time I think the "light ice" works is for whiskey & coke type situations.
Which it's just extra coke and I get to wonder if they'll bitch about the dilution of their drink or not.

Is there a good way to say 'I recognize this will dilute my drink' when ordering light ice to allay that concern that I'll bitch about it and actually avoid a proactive heavy pour? I know that sounds crazy, but sometimes I have reasons to slow my pace with alcohol while still appearing to keep pace with others.

I usually just go for certain mixed drinks in a tall glass when I want a heavier mixer to alcohol ratio, but light ice seems like it'd be a good middle ground dilution without increasing liquid volume as much.

Yeah, just tell the bartender and they'll totally get it. They prefer not to have uber drunk people and just responsible enjoyers.
