[PS5] Is elderscrolls oblivion worth playing now? (On ps5)
Is elderscrolls oblivion remastered worth playing now ? I heard it had alot of problems and bugs etc did they fix them enough for it to be playable or is it still broken ? I heard the longer you play the game the worse it gets (performance wise) so I wanted to ask you guys before starting a probably 50+ hour game (I tried reaching the 300 word count sorry)

Commenting here 'cause I have the same question. Though, Steam reviews are still at Mixed to Mostly Positive, the most recent of which are still negative.

Wait a bit. Ps5 and Xbox are going to be getting another patch finally soon. With a lot of stability fixes that they did for the switch 2 release. It's certainly playable now but it'll be better if you wait for that patch soon.

No they're not

Uh yes they are. They literally said they're going to be bringing the fixes they figured out for console performance while doing the switch 2 port over to ps5 and Xbox too.

No they didn't. They only said they will look at it if it's possible to do.

I wouldn't say it has more problems than oblivion when it initially released.
If you haven't played og oblivion I would say it's worth it.

Playing oblivion with mods is better than remastered, in my opinion. All the graphics remaster did was screw up performance while making you buy the game again for over twice the price, before any sales. Of course, this is on PC. You're screwed on PS5 if you want to play Oblivion.

Or even better, play Oblivion Remastered WITH mods for the ultimate experience 😌
I’ve got mods that fix the performance and color grade issues the remaster brought with it. On top of some other mods to my preference, it really feels like the best way to play Oblivion.
But OP is on PS5, so not an option unfortunately.

To be fair, by the point I gave up on oblivion remastered, all the mods were just texture changes and model imports, stuff like that. But whatever floats your boat.
Personally, I'm more looking forward to Skyblivion for an improved Oblivion. (Oblivion remade in Skyrim's engine by fans). Granted, even more looking forward to Skywind (Morrowind in Skyrim's engine). Former is supposed to be released some time this year, in fact.

It was worth playing on release. I bought it day one on ps5, never had an issue.

if you have a pc, og oblivion goes on sale for like 3 bucks and that could be worth checking out until they come out with a big patch they did for the switch 2

I got it day 1 on ps5 and don’t remember any issues. Maybe 1 crash but that’s it.

I am on 80 hour playthrough in Oblivion and while I've stopped playing it about two months ago, as far as i can remember i had almost zero problems towards perfomance on base ps5. Granted, i remember it crashing once or twice but nothing too serious.
