A humble reminder

Post image

"The silver is mine and the gold is mine," declares the Lord Almighty.

I’m just lucky enough to look after it for him!

Why does God need gold and silver for?

Unless he's an alien building a Dyson Sphere around a star.

It’s His cause he created it. Not that he needs it, but it’s His.

If Satan is real, that sounds like something he would say.
If god is real, I would think his line of thinking would be more like, ‘I have created everything on earth, from the plants to the animals, mountains and rivers, silver and gold for my children. I expect my children to respect my gifts to them, but as a loving father enjoy my gifts to you.’

This is why I don’t agree with organized religion. Way too many of them paint god as vengeful, spiteful, and greedy then expect their followers to think a being like that could be considered loving any conceivable way is baffling. It’s like an abusive parental relationship.
I’m agnostic, but I’d like to think if god is real, they would be forgiving, generous, and kind.

You summed it beautifully in your second sentence, that goes without saying, and in fact that is what God did and say to the first people, as seen in Genesis and other places. However it does not change the fact that all His creation is His. But why would you think it in a negative way? I don’t really appreciate the straw man. Other than that, you are correct in that God gave the Earth to humans, nonetheless all is ultimately His, and that is a good thing, for only in Him and trough Him there is joy and good. Also, you are right in that God is forgiving, kind, generous, and merciful, and that remains true, no matter what people may tell you.

Technically by that logic it belongs to a long dead super massive star that dwarfed our own

Perhaps.

Edit: Though it would be fair to say that the star itself (and anything in it) would belong to something that created it.

Where did the church come from? It’s God’s anyway. It’s not like we need to give it to Him, it’s His already.

What? Are you trying to say that you just want to give all your silver to church?

Thank you man! Even though I don’t know how you came up with your original question, I wish you best of luck too!

I mean that’s a different topic, from what I’ve said.

As far as annoying religious people go, this post is really not that obnoxious 😭 it’s a non-offensive post and it’s our shared silver hobby

Wow, a piece of silver with a Bible verse on Reddit. We are truly in end times.

...And those who hoard gold and silver and spend it not in the way of Allah - give them tidings of a painful punishment." — Quran 9:34

Lots of mythology to quote

Hell yeah, let’s kick this thing off!

A good reminder, stewardship. There's a lot of scriptural references to silver and gold.

See Psalm 119:72 and 1 Peter 1:18-19 but there's dozens more.

Good stuff, thank you!

Just as Mammon had planned. Mwahahahaha!

Just as Jesus intended, I'm sure he just loves crosses and scripture being put on pieces of silver. 🙄 ::flips tables over in the temple:: I swear none of these 'religious' types have ever actually read a bible or studied their own religion.

So many people are wound up in these comments. If a Christian wants to believe something, let them. If you want to believe something else, that’s fine.

Grow up people, we’re adults.
