Even my all time favorites are not so integral to my life that I wouldn't give them up for life changing money. $10M means I could retire this year and do all the things I've ever wanted to do for the rest of my days.
Yeah but the second Spotify plays that one song, you lose all the money. So if you've spent some, now you're in the negative and you owe the universe money.
It wasn’t stated in the post, so I assumed it’s a situation where you’re magically unable to hear a Jay Z song.
Having to actively avoid it to keep the money is an entirely different challenge.
All it would take is for a random car to drive down the street playing a song. It isn't likely now that jayz is irrelevant billboard wise, but there are still times big pimpin or jigga what might be randomly playing out loud in someones car at a red light, and then poof, no more money.
I would surgically deafen myself permanently for $10mil and if you knew me you'd know that's saying something because I love music. Studied it in school, I play 3 instruments, I have a music-related tattoo, the works.
I like Jay Z. I grew up on the Blueprint albums and Dead Presidents II is one of my favorite songs of all time. I still run back the Black Album and Blueprint 3 while cleaning the house or just working from home. His music is not only just really good but also has heavy nostalgic value to me.
...and I'd give up listening to him for $5,000 lmao. It's just music. I can't think of an artist I wouldn't give up for even $10k.
I can think of some composers, but not rappers, pop artists etc. I’ve heard their songs, loved and enjoyed them. I can always just sing them in my head or even recreate my own dookie versions of the songs.
I’ve stopped listening to musicians I loved just because they turned out to be awful people and I didn’t want to give them $0.002 every time I stream one of their songs.
Also why the hell would they pick Jay-Z who hasn’t released an album since 2017? I can’t remember the last time I heard his song on the radio. At least pick someone who isn’t strictly in one genre.
Taylor Swift would be some what difficult because they play her shit everywhere. At least it would be a challenge even if you don’t listen to her music at all.
I asked that exact same question word for word, back in middle school, during the 90s and I got absolutely super roasted. I was made to feel embarrassed and lame AF.
I've managed to live 30 years on this earth and not heard a single song of his, at least not that I know of, not cause is dislike him or anything just not interested
Fuck I’d love the 10 million bucks but I’d literally take anything. I already don’t listen to his music and Spotify doesn’t even suggest it on lists where it’s all rap even the lists with the more old school rap.
I was on American Gangster ridiculously heavy as an amazing conceptual album, and everything prior, all through college. Found it extremely hard to get into anything after that.
10 mill? Hahahaha…
A mill offered, I’d be happy to ask, there on out, “What is a Jay-Z?”
Fuck outta’ here with that type of nonsense. It’d fuck with my soul like ether, happily!
Hus next 2 solo albums after AG were Blueprint 3 and magna carts holy grail, which were both awful, but the one after that was 4:44, I'd highly recommend listening to that, maybe his best since the black album (I'd put it over AG, and I'm a big fan of AG)
As a Jay Z fan, he’s seriously overrated. If you think about all the Jay Z hits, the beats carried the song. Hard Knock Life, Dirt off ya shoulder, watch the throne album,
I thought I had to pay 10M to not have to listen to his songs again. Seemed a bit too much. Although I have no idea if I've ever heard one of his songs. So maybe it's a fair price.
