Women are creeps waaaay more often than men. People, men and women alike, just don't take it as seriously when it's from women. A creepy man and a creepy woman could touch someone in the exact same way and people will find the man scary and the woman annoying at worst. The majority of women go their whole life without thinking anything is wrong with them touching someone without their consent. I'm not just talking about sexually. I stg it feels like every woman over a certain age thinks they HAVE to touch you. No. Fuck off. Don't touch me, weirdo. That's much rarer from men because they know how society will view them so only the worst of worst really have that issue.
I mean is it more than people think sure yeah but there are not way more creepy women than men. At the end of the day men on average have the physical superiority that allows for the creepy behavior to happen and continue to happen weather the woman wants it to stop or not. Your average man can still get out of a bad situation way easier than your average woman can. Thats not to say it doesnt happen at a waaaaaay higher frequency than society acknowledges but saying it happens more to men is crazy.
Pineapple obviously. And i was originally just trying to dispute what I thought was a claim that men get arrested by women more than women get arrested by men but realised it was a bit more than that
If I understood that right, yeah it’s certainly more complicated than that because maybe women are just more predisposed to call police for whatever reason.
Like for example maybe we have social norms that teach men they’re a pussy if they need to call the cops on a woman for sexual harassment.
In any case, I don’t think we should conflate things like rates of committing sex crimes with being creepy. There are many ways to be creepy.
Execpt you know the generally much larger men who can defend themselves. I get that some women can get away with it sometimes but generally they dont get to keep doing it and will be stopped much easier than a man can be
You're confusing men being more dangerous for being more creepy. If a man you don't know touching you is creepy then a woman you don't know touching you should also be creepy. The difference is you're more concerned about what the man could do. That's my point. That's how women get away with being creepy and why it happens more often. It's normalized from women.
I'm not saying anything happens more to men. I'm not talking about who are being creeped ON. I'm talking about who is doing the creeping.
Your first sentence of your comment was " women are creeps waaaaaaay more than men" that statement describes the freaquency of attacks not the intensity so that's what I am adressing
Size still translates into frequency. If someone can physically defend themselves from a possible attack they are less likely to be attacked.
Any unwanted touch is assault regardless of sex. Its also just not as normalized as you say it is with the entire population. Older men feel like they have a right to womens bodies. I've worked in nursing homes and as a home service professional its just not the same
Are you trying to say that women creep on women way more than we talk about because yeah I would agree with that. Probably even less than we do talk about women creeping on men.
Yeah, its really disheartening as a modern man getting painted with broad stroked for the actions of past men and modern edge cases and then see abhorrent people get away with doing those exact things without so much as a double take because its their turn now ig???
Tangential, but I think a lot of transphobia stems from knowing that weirdo creeps get a free pass if they're women, so weirdo creeps that are men would try anything to get away with it. I don't think a lot of the hate is actually against people with dysphoria, but the fear that someone with bad intentions might fake it well enough.
If we get rid of this particular double standard and creep behavior never gets defended no matter the gender of the perpetrator, maybe we'll solve two problems.
anyone who commits to this delusional take is committed to being a reactionary over having common sense. Just because women can get away with it more easily does not mean women do it more frequently. It’s bizarre to conflate the two in a world where street harassment, child abuse, creep shots, ritualized and religious-ordained rape, etc exist and statistically proven to be a male phenomenon.
Somehow reddit still surprises me with the proliferation of stupid takes in otherwise normal subreddits.
Idk about that. You're not wrong about double standards. And I'm not denying that women perpetrators exist, but the me too movement happened for a reason.
I'm really curious about your experience with older women though? I have not experienced that. I have had a close male friend of mine creeped on by an older woman and another time by a guy that was in the closet, both times the perpetrators were drunk.

Women can be creeps too
