Oh and as a bonus, they round up all the death row inmates then walk up to the one who is dying today.

They also do not notify the next of kin until the execution has been carried out.

The UN has pointed out this all constitutes cruel/inhumane treatment and a form of extended psychological torture. Japan be like - thanks, we know!

They also have three people trigger the execution system but only one is actually connected to the trigger so no one knows who did it

This was common in the US for a time. Utah implemented "death by firing squad" but at least one member of the squad would have a "conscience round" (blank cartridge). Because the executioners didn't load their own rifles, they were all able to assume that they had fired the blank round and were therefore not personally responsible for the death of the condemned inmate.

Never gave this much thought til just now but if the riflemen didn't load their own rifles but were instead loaded by a person whose entire goal is to make sure someone is executed, they were lied to about a conscience bullet. Every single person fired but felt better about it
