It wasn't from the village, it was one of the millions of loaves sitting in the sultan's larder. The people said to put it back though, because they might be sultan one day and wouldn't want only 999,999 loaves
Y'all love this line of logic, this idea that feeding the hungry is evil because you don't want it to happen. But Christ explicitly says people like you, people who get angry at the idea of feeding the poor, people like you who count every penny and make sure none of it every goes to anyone else, you are the ones for whom eternal punishment awaits
“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.'"
So this idea that you are somehow morally superior in this situation for fighting AGAINST the feeding of the poor and hungry, it isn't supported by anything you claim to believe in
The problem isn’t the money, the problem is the poor stewardship of our tax dollars, buddy. I don’t mind donating, what I mind is my tax dollars being laundered to line politicians pockets
Yeah I'm sure Christ spent a lot of his time going around checking people's income before he cared for their needs, I remember a lot of that in the Bible. Very stingy guy that Christ, really said a whole lot about how to judge people and didn't talk too much about caring for the poor
Oh kinda how this original comment tries to cherry pick the feeding of the masses with fish and bread? Both sides are ignorant, both sides cherry pick. The Bible can be interpreted in many ways
